"So..." Nezu leaned back, sorting through his documents as he looked up at the UA staff. They were conducting a meeting following the aftermath of the final decision of the Hero Commission, though all of them pretty much knew what the outcome was going to be.
"What's the verdict?" Aizawa asked grimly.
"It's as expected." Nezu weakly shrugged, "I've tried to argue the case with Migawari and Akuto, even with the other members of the committee, but they agreed that we need the power of the students in order to increase our chances of victory."
"It's a pity. A lot of heroes have already been rooted out and identified, and our numbers are at an all-time low; I do agree that having the students would help us out." Snipe sighed, "But I wouldn't want to put them on the front lines... I know they aren't exactly experienced... especially those who took part in the raid against the Eight Precepts of Death..."
"And then the disaster that was the Hero Work-Studies internships." Ishiyama shook his head, "I thought the Hero Commission would know better."
"They do." Nezu agreed begrudgingly, clenching his paws tightly, "But now... things are complicated. This is a war that we have to win. If not... there will be nothing to return to. I just wish the Hero Commission will be sensible enough to put them on the sidelines... even if they are all going to be in a warzone."
"How are we going to tell the parents though? Even if they can't do anything... they deserve to know what's going on..."
Yamada's voice trailed off into static as Sasaki just stared at the floor, crossing his arms tightly as he contemplated whatever future he saw from Midoriya.
The decision has been finalized, and while Sasaki had a general idea of how messy the war was, he wasn't too sure where Midoriya would be placed; would he be helping out with the evacuation of Jaku General Hospital? Or would he be aiding in the raid of Gunga Mountain Villa?
He tightened his grip.
Could he really do this?
Could he send Midoriya, who he was rather fond of, into a war where he was most likely going to die?
Could he bear the blood on his hands?
"Mr Principal... I believe... there is something I should tell you."
Everyone's heads turned towards Sasaki at breakneck speed, but the Foresight user kept his focus trained entirely on Nezu.
"Oh, yes, you've used your quirk on Aizawa, Togata, and Izuku, right? Anything you saw that could potentially help us?"
How would he react, knowing that his precious, beloved little cub was potentially going to die by Shigaraki's hands?
Best to just rip off the Band-Aid and not drag it out.
"I do have some insights on the matter at hand. However, I believe we have more pressing concerns."
Sasaki pushed his glasses up and tried to take on a more professional tone.
"I've seen Hakryuen's death at the hands of Shigaraki Tomura."
Nezu instantly froze up, and the room fell silent.
"You have got to be shitting me." Yamada growled, breaking the silence, "Why is it always him!?"
Sasaki wasn't too sure if Yamada was talking about Midoriya getting involved in dangerous situations, or Shigaraki messing up their plans. Either way, this was something that he has to discuss with Nezu, and potentially with the Hero Commission as well.
