Chapter 40

Newt's POV

I am finally home and I am so happy to see her again. I missed her so much, being in her arms felt safe and I didn't want to let go.

"Oh my god Newt"  I heard mom's voice, I opened my eyes and Susie let go off me and stood up. Mom and Jenna are here, crying. Mom hugged me.

"Thank god, oh dear" she said sniffing through tears. "You are awake" and then she let go and smiled.

"I am okay mom" I said and looked at Jenna, Who just stood watching me controlling her tears. I smiled slightly, I can tell she was worried so much all this time. I get out of the bed and gave her a hug and She let me.

"You must have been so scared" I said stroking her hair lightly. "I am sorry" 

She then hugged me back and broke into tears.

"It's okay" I said "I am here" 

I let go off her after a moment, she wiped her tears and said

"I will bring dad" and then went to the living room.

"Are you feeling okay? I am afraid if there's__" my mom was saying but I cut her off saying

"I am fine mom, I feel alright, don't worry" I said. "but I feel hungry" 

"Of course you do, let me make you something quickly" she said and rushed to kitchen.

And she is still here, standing there and looking at me like she couldn't actually believe it. I walked to her.

"Hey" I said. 

"Hey" she said "I am glad you woke up"  I smiled and said

"Me too" she didn't say anything but she tried to avoid my eyes. "I didn't expect to see you here"

She raised her eyebrows in question and confusion.

"I mean I am glad, really glad you are here. But I thought you hated me" I said  "you know after that night__"

"You should take some rest" she said cutting me off 

"I had enough rest Susie" I said "I just want us to ___" I was saying when my dad came.

"Newt_" he called standing by the door. "Thank goodness" 

"Dad__" I said and looked back at Susie, I want to talk to her.

"I should go home and tell my parents about this" she said going out and I couldn't stop her.

"Are you feeling okay?" my dad asked.

For an hour My parents and Jenna kept staring at me like I would disappear. Even while I was eating, they wouldn't look away.

"Guys, I am really okay, you should stop staring at me like that" I said finishing the food. "I will go take a shower" 

Alice died but how? Everything seemed perfect, They were happy. How did she die? I close my eyes and I see her. What happened to Oliver then? I have so many questions. I came out of the shower and I was drying my wet hair with the towel and walked into the living room when I saw Susie and her parents sitting on the sofa. What are they doing here?.

"Come on Newt, sit here" my dad said and I sat next to him. 

"How are you feeling?" Kayla asked.

"I am fine Mrs. Rupert" I said. 

"That's a relief" she said "I wanted to ask you what Marcus showed you in the dream" 

Do I have to tell them now all that? I looked at my dad, he looked at me like he needed me to answer that.
