The World We Belong To

chapter 9

Newt's pov

"Now that we found the book, we need susie to help us and then everything will be okay Newt" Jenna was so happy about it. She almost had tears in her eyes.

"You're going to be fine" she said.

But I still don't know how to talk Susie into my weird stuff, it's obvious her dad kept a lot to himself. She doesn't know anything about her family. I need to figure out a way to tell her about her story.

When dad was home, he was upset as I thought. We were in the hall, dad was sitting on the sofa and I sat next to him as Jenna was sitting opposite to us on the other Sofa.

"Why are you taking so long Newt, there isn't time for you" he said 

"Dad, I told you I found the book" I said

"Then where is it ?" He asked getting angry.

"It was in her bag, she carries it with her to school " I told him.

"She WHAT?" Jenna was surprised. "that's crazy.,.What if it fell into wrong hands?"

"Well Susie doesn't know how valuable that book is, right !!" I said to Jenna and then I turned to dad and said

"Last night, when I tried to take it with me, it burned my hand " I showed my hand.

He thought for a moment, we waited for him.

"It must be a spell, Susie's mom is not a dumb to leave the book without any protection.. I think, before she disappeared, she must have put some spell on it, so that it wouldn't fell into wrong hands" he explained.

"Then how do we get it now ?" I asked.

"Only her daughter can do it, since the spell was done by her mother, only her blood related person can break the spell and it is Susie.

"We not only need the book but also her, you need to make her help you newt" he said

"Be her friend, gain her trust, when time comes she will know things by herself and we just need to make sure she will help us in time" he said. Jenna and I nodded to him. He then looked at me.

"Are you having any symptoms yet?" He asked

"No, not yet" I said

"Good...and How are things between you and her?"

Jenna chuckled and said

"Its complicated "

I glared at her, I gestured her to keep quiet.

"Like how ?" Father asked looking confused a bit.

"Everything is fine between us Dad" I replied. "I'll get to school, I'm late" I said and left giving Jenna one last annoying look.

I was in the corridor when I saw her coming with Steve, I tried not to care who she hang out with. I have bigger problems to worry about than this.

After Steve left, she looked at me, I waved to her, she waved back with a simple smile and we walked to class. Before the class has stared I tried to make a conversation.

"Hey" I said

"Hii" she said and she went back to reading her notes. I kept looking at her thinking of all the things she had to go through when she finds out about her family and herself. I wish she never knew. She caught me looking  at her.

"You want something?" She asked.

"Hmm yeah..do you have any empty notes, I didn't bring any books with me today, I forgot " I said
