Chapter 46

Susie's POV

Newt screamed in pain suddenly, he instantly fell to the ground leaving my hands. He is turning. His bones seems like they are breaking, hair is coming through his face and body, His body grew huge and his screams are echoing in my ears so loudly.  I was so scared that he might not survive this pain. I have never seen anyone go through such crucial pain and now being him the first person I have to see go through it, hurts so much.

It must have been 10 minutes since he's in pain and I can do nothing about it, The turning must take place then only I can perform the spell to turn him back human. After He fully turned going through that pain, I can't tell if he really is Newt. His teeth are like of a wolf, so white and sharp, His ears are like an animal, his nails are big and sharp that could easily cut off any human and he is really big and tall. He looked so scary that I stepped back a bit and gulped, he howled to the moon so loudly that the birds in the trees got scared and flew away. 

Soon after he turned, his entire pack started turning and they all screamed and was in pain just like Newt was but they looked small compared to Newt, It must be because of Newt is the Alpha.  

They kept howling loudly as they tried to get off the chains but they can't break them. I looked at Newt  and he was trying to get off the chain  but it was no use, He turned toward me and looked at me, meeting my eyes, Everything about him looked scary except for his Eyes, I can see him, in his eyes like his true self is still in there, somewhere.

I have to hold his hands to do the spell, with the fear running through my body, I went to him and he snarled at me that made me step back.

"Newt" I called "It's me"  but he didn't recognise me.

The witches gathered around the circle, holding their hands and they started chanting a spell to form a protective layer around me that would protect me from being hurt. After they are done, my mom said

"Susie, hold his hands, he won't be able to hurt you now"

I nodded and slowly held his hands, They are warm, just like how his hands were before, he snapped his hands at me again but it didn't hurt me, like the layer is protecting me.

After holding his hand, I started the chant and after a moment, he screamed in pain again, looks like the spell is working, He seems like he's turning back, but I can't feel my legs or my body, like the energy has completely drained from my body. I have to stay strong, we are not even half way there, I still have to summon Marcus and put him back in the cage, I have to stay strong.

I have no idea that this spell would consume my energy like this, I can barely stand and open my eyes, I thought I would fall anytime. All the witches gathered around me, started chanting a spell to help me gain some energy so that I could finish the spell. After a while I felt like I was getting some energy through their spell.

Newt slowly turned back as the full moon was fading away. He seemed exhausted, His clothes were ripped apart during the transmission. I chanted the last words of the spell holding together the energy I have left and it's finally done, I think I did it, Newt completely turned back to human, so does his pack.

He fell to the ground panting with sweat all over his body and I can barely look at him, I can't feel my legs, I have fallen to the ground, when my mom came to me rushing and held me.

"Oh honey, look at me, you will be okay?" I was gasping for air.

My dad came to us with water and made me drink it.

Newt's parents came to him and covered him with clothes and they made him drink water. Everyone went to each member of the pack to see if they are okay and gave them clothes and water. They all seem weak but not as much as Newt.
