Chapter 43

Newt's POV

I saw her dance with a guy who is wearing a mask, she is talking to him, I thought he must be one of my friends talking to her but he put his hand on her cheek and then he said something and left. who was that jerk and how dare he touch her?. I stopped dancing and went to Susie.

"Who is that?" I asked. She seemed confused and anxious "Are you okay?"

"Yeah I am okay" she said "that was Marcus, he has been watching us" 

This can't be happening, What is he thinking dancing with her and talking to her? He can't be thinking that She is Alice.

"Newt?" she called, I came out of my thoughts.

"He didn't try to hurt you or anything, did he?" I asked.

"No he didn't" she said "but he said something strange, I didn't understand"

"Let's go somewhere else and talk" I said and took her hand and we got into my car. I drove to the lake house.

I pulled the car over and parked it. I was about to get out of the car opening the door.

"Why did we come to lake house?" she asked "I think we should go home Newt. Marcus must be following us somehow, he might want to hurt us" 

"He won't hurt us, trust me." I said closing the door "especially you" 

"What do you mean especially me?" she asked. 

I don't know how to tell her the truth, I closed my eyes.

"Newt?" she called "What are you hiding? you can tell me Newt, it's alright"

I opened my eyes and looked at her, she took my hand into hers.

"I don't know where to start" I said.

"Why don't you start from Alice?" she said "You woke up screaming her name like something bad happened to her, you were so scared. Even when you finally saw me, you thought I was her and called me by her name"

I did, didn't I? I have to tell her now.

"It's because___" I gulped in fear, I am afraid I would lose her again. "You look like her, I think you are the incarnation of her" 

She pulled her eyebrows together, she smiled lightly.

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"I am saying You were Alice in your past time and I was Oliver" I said "We both are incarnations of Oliver and Alice" 

She slowly let go off my hand, she sighed in disbelief.

"I know it's hard to believe, it was for me at first too" I said "When I entered the dream, the first person I saw was Alice and she looked exactly like you, everything about her is exactly like you. That's why I called you by her name when I saw you after waking up" 

"So you were saying we are__" she couldn't even say the word "Its stupid, I can't ___" 

she closed her eyes and tried to catch her breath like she has to process all this. She seemed to be thinking something else and then She scoffed.

"I get it why he said all those things " she said like she figured out something.

"Who?" I asked.

"Marcus" she said "When I first met him, he said he is here to see someone he missed and that she doesn't remember him, he was talking about Alice because I look like her" 

He has been meeting her and talking about her, He probably thinks she's Alice, He wants her. He is after Susie.

"But I don't understand one thing" she looked at me. "He said he lost me once and that he don't wanna lose me again, what does he mean by that?"
