Gavin was here after we cut the cake. Well, cupcakes to be specific.
He lives a few miles away from the summer house we are in right now. Jace used to go to his house for stayovers at times when he stayed here. I've never heard about him before. But he is actually really sweet. And I can clearly see Ashley checking him out.
"He's cute. Make that happen maybe?" I tell her as I take a seat next to her around the bonfire.
"Hell no!" She chugs beer from the bottle in her hand as she looks at him talking to Cole. "Don't worry though. I'm not gonna launch at your boyfriend again." She giggled.
I nudged her "Don't you dare!" and we both laughed.
"Okay people!" Nishi screamed, her head on Cole's chest as they sat on the opposite side of the bonfire. "Let's say good stuff about Jace. And some bad stuff. But not too harsh. He's a sensitive ass."
I got up and walked to Jace with two beer bottles. One for him and one for me.
"Are you gonna drink that?" He asked taking one of the bottles from me.
"Calm down. I'm not gonna get high on your birthday. It's a shock that we're getting to drink anyways." I assured as I sat next to him. The adults were all inside the house so I probably shouldn't drink too much."
"I'll start?" Carli asked. But she didn't wait for an answer. "I hate Jace's dressing sense."
"Expected." Jace smiled. Everyone saw that one coming.
"But I love his hair. So that balances it." She said
"Well, he's taken my best friend from me so hate him forever for that." Nishi was actually kinda high. "And I love his best friend/cousin so hehe that's what I love about him." We all laughed and Nishi kept asking what the joke was. Cole was slightly blushing.
Jess went next. "His music taste is way better than Allan's. And I've been trying to get him to watch these two movies but he wouldn't so that's what I hate I guess?"
"Jeez! I'll watch them, Jess!" I laughed. I loved how they would go on and on about their music tastes and then fight when we have to watch movies together.
"I hate how he thinks he's better at playing the guitar." Cole spoke.
"Shut the fuck up! I know for a fact I'm better." Jace said. He wasn't serious or mad. "I'd prove it if I had a guitar right now!"
"Well, I have one in my car." Gavin finally spoke.
"That's my guy!" Jace exclaimed.
Gavin went and got the guitar and soon Jace started playing. He was playing i don't want to watch the world end with someone else by Clinton Kane.
And I, I wish we didn't say goodbye
'Cause we're just standing still
And I don't really know what tomorrow holdsI started singing then. And he just kept playing. And smiling.
But I've, I've finally realised
If this is our last goodbye until we're goneHe looked into my eyes while we both sang. The smile on his face started to fade as we started to get closer.
Who cares about the wrongs we've 'caused ourselves
His face was right in front of mine. We were this close to making out.
'Cause I don't wanna watch the world end with someone else
He stopped playing. His lips were on mine before I even knew it. So I run my hand through his hair and for a minute I forget that people are around.
I break the kiss but our faces are still close as both our breaths tangle into one.
I didn't care if people were around. I didn't care if I sounded horrible. I cared about nothing. His voice along with mine, will always be the perfect harmony to me. No matter what.
I love you, he mouths at me. And I nod.
