I got into Cole's car while he was on his phone

I got into Cole's car while he was on his phone. "What the hell, dude!" I couldn't resist from saying. He had been watching all those stories about him on Instagram from the cafeteria this morning. He shouldn't. That shit just cripples into your mind.

"DUDE!! Drop it already!" I snatched his phone off his hand "No." I relapsed when he tried to fish it back from my hand. "You aren't getting the phone until you haven't dropped me off."

"What the fuck. Jace! Give it. NOW!" He commanded.

"Why did she do it? You still haven't told me yet. You won't tell me?" His face dropped. There was a glimpse of a sadness, maybe even anger.

He decided to stay silent.

"C'mon Cole, You tell me everything!" He did. It was true nonetheless. He was the perfect cousin anyone could ever want. Even though he was way more rich and way more grateful about life, he never made me feel low.

Our mothers, who were sisters by blood, did have all their differences, but they never failed to raise us together. We were both 6 when my beloved mother—Emily—got divorced by my biological father. That is when she decided that I and her should move to North Haven. Ever since then I and Cole only met during summer and winter breaks. I was always excited to see him, I don't know how he felt about it.

He was still silent all the way till The Centre which was around 8 miles away.

As soon as we reached, he impatiently asked for his phone. I took it out and uninstalled the Instagram app. "There you go!" I could see he was getting pissed.

"See looking at those shit ass stories is not gonna help anyways." I blurted "You could tell me. I could soothe you!" I tried being supportive somehow.

After a minute of dark silence and me staring at him in the parking lot, he said "She is pissed cus I am into Nishi Bahl." Who was that?

"Wait a second, Who was Nishi again?!" I am pretty sure I pronounced that name wrong.

"Nishi Bahl is the brown girl who goes to Hamden High ever since last year. Ashley is pissed cus she thinks she is the one who got me popular and shit." He sounded mad. Ashley thinks she has a hold over me. Like she controls me or something that sort. Its annoying. Nishi on the other hand knows how to give me my space. It's always like I have to be perfect with Ashley. But being with Nishi makes me feel.. y'know all calm and soothing. Ashley gets me all worked up in the wrong way. This party. That party. I don't even remember when was the last time Ashley and I went on an actual date Jace. It's always either a party or a football game."

"That's indeed a whole lot mate!" I tried speaking in my British Accent to lighten up the situation.

"Shut-Up. All this summer break, the only time we had an actual moment was at my place when she came over for dinner. Right when she was about to kiss me, Bianca called her and Ashley started gossiping about shit. Sometimes I feel like Bianca and Jenna have been in Ashley's bed more than i ever have. It feels like i am dating all three of them. TOO much drama. Too cringy." He cut me off.

"Welp, Everyone comes with baggage!" I justified.

"Yeah sure. But Ashley comes with trucks filled with baggage and dumps it all on your face." He clarified.

"So wait, does this Nishi girl know you into her?!" I asked curiously.

"She does. We made out and stuff."

Stuff

"I mean we were almost gonna do it. But apparently she wants me to first end shit with Ashley. She doesn't want to get caught up in popular-girl-drama given Ashley and her dramatic history." He kept on speaking given the reaction on my face.

"Got it. There is a lot of foreplay going on." I joked though he didn't find amusing. "I should probably head out. Pick me up at 6 or else you are a dead man. We got Game Of Thrones to watch." I ordered as I stepped out of Cole's SUV.

I turned towards an old building as I heard the SUV rush away. The fuck this seemed bad.

This is completely unrelated to this book but am I the only one who always has a tough time choosing between CALL ME BY YOUR NAME and LOVE, SIMON?!

I rewatched both the movies today. Gotta say both make me cry!

How about y'all?! Which one made you cry more?

Let me know through the comments!!
