"That was a nice debate in there." I say.

He slightly smiled. Like he wanted to smile but he was trying to hold it back at the same time.

"Thanks I guess?" He said. He sounded soft. Low and smooth.

I saw Cole's SUV pull up by the shade. "Here comes my cousin." I boasted. Almost proud that Cole was my cousin.

"Cole Alden is your cousin?" He asked, voice still calm as fuck.

"Yeah. My aunt's son. You know him?" Why did I just say that. What the fuck Jace?!

Cole slowed his car infront of us. "Yeah we go to the same school." He explained.

"Hamden High!?" I asked. Curious as fuck.

"Hey Allan!" Cole screamt from the car. It was drizzling. I mean slightly now. It was heavy a few minutes ago.

So that was his name. Allan. Who names their kid Allan? That's stupid. He is probably some nerd. Half the Hamden High is filled with nerds so it won't be a shock.

"Hey." Allan walked towards the SUV and leaned in through the open passenger seat window. I followed. He made way for me to sit and then leaned through open window again.

"How is Nishi?" Cole asked. Slightly stuttering.

"She is.." Allan sighed "holding up. Yeah!" He sounded plain now. Like he didn't have an opinion on whatever Cole was asking about.

"Tell her I am sorry. I mean... she was already going through so much at school.. and then.." Cole sounded guilty for some absurd reason.

"It's okay Cole! She's gonna be fine. Don't worry." He cut Cole off in between and tried calming the situation.

"Anyways you never told me about your cousin!" Allan said as he looked at me. Our eyes met. His dark brown eyes. But then again he quickly looked away.

"Yeah! This is Jace. Jace this is Allan." He gestured towards both of us. "Our families have been close for a long while Jace. And I also dated his sister for a day." Cole giggled.

"That didn't turn out well not even kidding." Allan laughed too.

"Anyways does Jess like it there? How is she?" Cole asked. This conversation is getting boring.

"It's Harvard Cole. Who wouldn't like it there?" He smiled "but she is still in denial about the whole Nick thing!"

"That's bad! Anyways, we are having a little thing on Friday at my place.." Cole was speaking just when Allan cut him in again. Wait we didn't have anything on Friday! But Cole kept saying we needed to have a welcome party for me.

"You know I don't go to parties Cole." Allan explained.

"You should come!" I blurted sounding too quick. Almost desperate.

Allan looked at me "I'll try. No promises."

"Okay! Sounds good! Want a ride home?" Cole asked.

"Naa I am covered. Thanks for asking!"

"Okay then, see you at school."

He smiled and walked back from the window. 10 minutes later Cole was driving us home. His home.

"How are he and Nishi related?" I asked like a curios 7 year old.

"Nishi and Allan are really close. Friends since a long time. Nishi's dad just had a terrible accident. They are in Derby so she isn't at school." Cole explained.

"And what is the party about?"

"Well for your welcome!"

"I don't need it. You know that dude."

"A lot of girls are coming." Cole chuckled.

"It doesn't matter to be honest!" I exclaimed.

"Jeez okay!"
