I was done packing. There wasn't much to pack anyways. And neither was I in the mood to pack.
I heard Allan rush downstairs. So I rushed behind him.
"Hold up! How are you going to school?" I asked.
"What?"
"How are you going to school? Can I drop you? I'm on my way to Emily's." Emily was an old school friend so he would believe me.
"Give me a minute." He said and started tapping on his phone. "Done. Hurry up."
"What did you do?" I asked, confused.
"Sent my boyfriend away so you could drop me?" Was it just me or was he acting weird?
"Oh alright." I picked up the keys and rushed to the car with him.
"So uhh when are you leaving again?" He asked, two minutes away from school. I know he remembers the timing. He's trying to make conversation and not be mad at me.
"At 7." I answered.
"Cool!" The response was dull.
"So Paris, huh?" I asked, trying to make conversation.
"Jess, don't." He screamed. "Don't act like this is okay."
"What do you mean?" I knew exactly what he meant.
"I don't want you to go." He murmured.
"But you know I have to." I looked at him after parking in the school parking lot.
He leaned back, looked out of the window. "But we're not gonna see each other for months." He looked back at me.
"FaceTime was made for a reason." I laughed.
"Yeah sure." He looked frustrated. Then suddenly his face lit up. He had another idea. I could tell.
"Why don't I skip school for a few days, say a week, and come stay with you?" There it was.
"No." My voice made my point crystal clear. And obviously disappointed him.
"Cmon. It's gonna be fun, Jess." He spoke like a kid.
"Where will you stay?" I asked.
"Gramp's place." Obviously, he had all of it planned out.
"Okay no!" I screamed. His face went down. "You aren't missing school."
"Fine." He got out of the car and slammed the door back in. I kept calling him but he just wouldn't turn around.
So I drove out of the parking lot.
Sometime's he can be really frustrating. Like a little kid that I have to handle.
But his behavior is the least of my concerns right now.
