He didn't want to drink it, but he had to

He didn't want to drink it, but he had to. This party was stupid anyways so him drinking to get out of here wasn't bad altogether.

I didn't get one thing—why did everyone keep staring at him. He was the focus in every room. Like the centre of attraction or whatever. But I was sure it wasn't possitive—the attention he got. He seemed really uncomfortable. It was really awkward for him I guess.

We were walking around Caroline Street, which was where our school was. It was past midnight so obviously it was sorta frizzy. Like the winds were just kicking in through a late summer vibe. It was in a slight way cold, but also not. I guess winter is coming.

We were walking in utter silence. I would speak but I could clearly see Allan wasn't in mood.

Ten minutes later we were walking down the hallways of Hamden High. My head ached a bit. Probably cus of all those bottles I chugged at the party.

"Where are we going dude?" I had to ask as I really can't keep my mouth shut.

"Just follow me." Allan said.

We took the staircase to the second floor. The school seemed... different at night. I followed Allan to the restricted part of the wing.

There was a little staircase at the extreme corner of the section. The stairs felt really small and uneven as I followed him. I saw how he popped open a little door at the end of the staircase.

It was a wide ass open space. This was probably the rooftop of the school. But why come here from such a small staircase when we could have just used the main one?

"Woah!" I couldn't help but compliment. "This is amazing." I looked at the view from the top. It was very very very good. Like you could see half the city, probably more from here.

"You asked where would I be. So here we are." He said. I turned to look at him. He was smiling. This was new.

"This place has an amazing view." I noticed how excited and hyped I was.

He walked past me and went and sat on the ledge with his legs upon it. "You coming?" He screamed.

I slowly went and positioned myself beside him, hoping I wouldn't fall. Was he high? But he didn't even drink so much. He just had one glass.

Wow!

"Hey.. I just wanted to ask—Why was everyone staring at you today at the party?" I shouldn't have opened my mouth. Fuckkkkk.

"What do you see from here Jace?" He was still smiling. Did he ignore what I just asked? He was definitely super high though.

I looked at the view once again. I didn't see much. Just most of Hamden that looked beautiful collectively. "I don't know." I hesitated. I don't even know why. "I see houses, different buildings, the field, the lake, the bridge maybe. What more?"
