I was sitting there. On one of the many colored fold chairs. The place was bright. It had an adult-ish complex to it-Brown strips of different shades on all the walls, huge brown minimalist paintings hung down these walls, coffee color tables lined at the end of the space filled with trays of food.
FOOD
Fuck!!!!!!! I am hungry again.
This place has the best cookies. I don't know where they get it from but someone told me the speaker-Mr. Tilsley bakes them all the time. Bless Mrs. Tilsley for those delicious soft yet crunchy cookies with just the right amount of dough and the perfect Mormont Chocolate Chips.
Mrs. Tilsley was just about to begin with the session. We were following the topic of IGNORANCE for the past three sessions. Today was the fourth and second-last session. I mean why would someone sitting in the world's most dumbest brownest room want to talk about ignorance. But anyways, who cares? Just gotta be silent throughout the session like an Egyptian mummy just sitting there IGNORING what anyone would say.
The plan for today was get home before 6 PM. Watch Game Of Thrones and fall asleep on the couch. Perfect evening!
I was lately kinda getting obsessed with Game Of Thrones. I mean at first it was just that the show was playing on repeat on HBO and no one is home before 8:30 PM. So why not binge the world's most famous historical fiction show? But now it has got me all worked up. Terribly! I just bought the official GOT merchandise from Shoppers Stop last week which I was obviously wearing right now.
It said "MOTHER OF DRAGONS" Should've worn it on Halloween. At least someone would have noticed me then.
I have been dodging the spoilers and it is fucking tough. Like I can't even go to twitter or instagram anymore. It's all just people talking about how bad the ending is and how a STARBUCKS COFFEE CUP was featured in the last season.
"Hey Everyone!" Mrs. Tilsley started speaking.
"I am so sorry-" Someone screamt from the corner of the space where the entrance was. The voice was masculine. The ones that are rough-rough and fading. The voice was slightly soothing. The type of voices actors would have. The type of voice that the hot guys have in movies and shows. I strangely recognized it.
THE VOICE SOUNDED LIKE JOSHUA BASSETT.
Joshua Bassett played Ricky Bowen in this latest show that I binged. HE WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOT. Joshua Bassett is hot. I couldn't get over my crush for him ever since i saw him on the show.
WHAT IF JOSHUA BASSETT CAME TO MY HELP CENTRE. JOSHUA-FUCKING-BASSET. IS THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENING?!
I turn around and it isn't Joshua Bassett. I am not disappointed. Not that much.
"I am so sorry. I won't be late the next time." The guy stood at the entrance door ad spoke. "Kinda had a rough time finding my way."
I noticed the guy. Messy black hair, soothing jawline, stagnant brown eyes. They had that slight glittery shine in the centre. Like they were child and icy in some sorta way. The guy was wearing a clear white hoodie and black ripped jeans. He stared into my eye for a second as he scanned the room. I quickly rustled in my seat and dived into it to make sure i go all invisible just like today morning, in Mrs. Forman's class.
Mrs. Tilsley asked him to come in and stand by her as she introduced him. "Hey so i was waiting for this. We will be having Jace Gray joining us for a while. He has just moved to Hamden. Be welcoming y'all!"
JACE GRAY!! As in the guy I bumped into this morning outside Mr. Sanderson's cabin. As in the guy who called Mr. Sanderson a jerk.
She looked at Jace and politely asked him to share his story. Jace gave her a look. The can-i-please-not-do-this look. I knew the look, cus back when I was new, even i had it on my face all the time.
"So ... Hey everyone." He hesitated and everyone roared back a hey but me. It was a rule-its mandatory to make any beginners welcome-but I didn'tlike it. The adults and everyone thought this system helped build confidence in the new kids, but i know it for a fact only scares you more than it helps boosting your confidence.
"I don't know what to say here...." He slid his hands in his front hoodie pocket "I am Jace Gray, 16. I just moved here from North Haven. And....Yeah"
Mrs. Tilsley asked him about his suicide. I felt bad for him. He didn't want to share it and it was evident, though he still had to.
"I tried it an year ago." His voice now all dusty as he kept it low, trying to keep it calm and to himself.
"Do you have any mental illness Jace?" Mrs. Tilsley asked. I hated this question. And I knew everyone else hated it equally.
"Not until I walked in through that door a few minutes ago!" Jace said. Everyone gasped. Some in horror but most of us found it amusing and the room echoed with good laughs.
He was sharp. He wasn't what I thought of him as after this morning's incident.
He seemed like playboy as every other guy does back then. But there is something different about him now. Something strangely calm. He was witty, spontaneous and shy, all at once.Jace cleared that he doesn't have any problem with his brain and went to the seat empty at the back. He sat in his chair and held his hand in a fist ball joined together. He looked at me and passed a smile.
Sure the stranger just smiled at me. But wait if I caught him smiling at me doesn't that mean I was staring at him. Ugh this was awkward. His face was in a perfect smile and I guess anyone at this point would've smiled back.
But i didn't. I ignored this as well. I looked away and broke the eye contact.
