Hotaru's POV

It had been roughly three weeks since moving into Katsuki's house in Fujiyoshida. Twice a week, he would travel back to Hosu to his agency to make a physical appearance so people wouldn't notice he was missing from the city, leaving one of the Bakusquad to sit with me during the day. Today, my babysitter was Denki, earning quite the opposition from Katsuki who had preferred Mina or Kiri to stay with me, but Mina was off on another mission helping Uravity and Kiri needed to be in person with Katsuki while he met with Deku and Shoto for the first time in nearly over a month in regards to Melissa and myself.

Sprawled out on the dining room floor, painting his nails black, Denki kept me company as I cooked up a small lunch for us by prattling on about his love life with Jiro. Humming every now and then as I diced veggies, tossing them in the pan to sweat out, I couldn't help my smile when I heard my phone ping from the countertop behind me.

"Is that Lover boy??" Denki sat up, quickly fanning his hands as he lunged for my phone, chuckling. "You know, I have never seen Kacchan this infatuated with someone before. If it were anyone else, it would be cute, but with Bakugou it's just unsettling. Like, in an invasion of the body snatchers type of way."

Scoffing, I stir the mushrooms, pepper, and tofu. "You know, you guys give him a lot of shit, but he's actually a super sweet guy. Sure, he has a temper, but who doesn't?"

"Man, Taru, if only you would have known Kacchan in High School. I wonder if you guys would have gotten along?" Denki muses, tapping his chin while he loses himself in thought. "He was just extremely violent, he flew off the handle at every little thing. He used to bully Deku pretty badly." I turned toward Denki, crossing my arms as I listened to him reminisce over their high school years. "You know, he was even kidnapped by the League during our first year. They saw how he reacted at the Sports Festival, and thought they could sway him into joining them and being a villain. That ended up blowing up in their face, literally! But it was also a huge part of what led to All Might's retirement. That hit Bakugou really hard, he ended up doing a bit of 180... well, not an entire 180, more like a 145... but he really started to mellow and focus on being the best hero he could be."

"What happened at the Sports Festival?" I was curious... I had known he won, I vaguely remember the nonsense that happened during our first year at the academy at our first Expo, granted a large chunk of U.A. class 1A had been present. Also, it was how Melissa had met Deku.

"Oh man! Are you in for a treat or what!" Denki propped his phone up on the island, patting the stool beside him for me to come sit. Removing the stir-fry from the heat, I padded over taking a seat beside my electric friend. I rested my head in my hands as I glanced at the screen of his phone as he jumped ahead to show the fights Katsuki had during the one on one battles. The first was against Uraraka and it was nothing short of brutal, but you would expect nothing less from the ferocious ash blonde.

"He was such a cute kid. It's crazy to see him so... massive now." your mumbles didn't go unnoticed by Denki who proceeded to tease you the remainder of the fight. Naturally, Katsuki came out the victor. His next battle was, surprisingly, against Kiri.

"Oh my gosh! Kiri has always been such a pure little angel! My heart!" you cooed over teenage Kirishima as he and Katsuki, who seemed to struggle the first half, duked it out, and eventually led to Katsuki's willpower dominating over Kiri's and coming out on top.

The next match was with some other kid with a bird head and some sort of shadow looking demon, and again, Katsuki found a way to come out on top. "He's always been amazing, hasn't he?" I mused, studying the intricacies of his fighting style; he wasn't just brute force and power, he was calculating and always analyzing what was happening around him with counter measures just as powerful as his full on assaults. Deki merely nodded, watching how engrossed I was in Katsuki's past battle, a small smile tugging at his lips while he observed me. He'd been one of the Bakusquad and sidekicks to Katsuki for over a decade now, he was well versed in the tenacious blondes skills and styles, having the events of their first Sports Festival committed to memory. Seeing how enthralled Taru was with learning and appreciating Bakugou's abilities made his heart swell. His friend desperately needed someone like Taru who cared for him in ways like this, ways that mattered to his crimson eyed friend. The booming voice of Present Mic announcing the final battle between Katsuki and Shoto rang through the phone's speaker.
