Dabi's POV

It had been four days since she tried to...

Well, I guess since she...

It had been four days since I realized just how much Hotaru had given up. She slept through most of it, only waking up when I would shake her and force her to eat or drink. My mind was racing. I didn't know what to do. I was either pacing like a madman while she slept, standing over her watching her breathing, or holding her close in an attempt to keep her warm. She was always so cold. So fucking cold. My poor Little Doll.

Fuck. What was I doing?

I knew I had fucked up. I should have found a way to take her to a hospital. Something.

That was the kicker, though. I had no idea where the fuck we actually were. This obscure, scenic farmland bullshit.

I was really starting to fucking hate Kenji with every fiber of my being. Always such a cynical, over dramatic asshole. And that was putting it lightly. Realistically, all these last few days had done was give me time to think; that alone was fucking dangerous. I had come to the realization that Kenji was just the different side of the same coin as my Father.

Both men were selfish, corrupt, abusive frauds. Both men had no issue destroying others, stepping on the lives of their loved ones in order to reach their goals.

Both men needed to pay for their crimes.

In my initial panic after Hotaru had hurt herself, I called Kenji and explained what had happened. To say the old man was pissed was the understatement of the century. He had shown up with a few fresh faces I had never seen before who he vaguely introduced as...

"They are just a few old friends who are familiar with Taru and her particularly fragile state." The old man said with one of the most fraudulent masks of comfort I had witnessed. That was saying a lot, I've experienced my fair share of fake sincerity over the years. I held her sleeping form against my chest, glaring at the green eyed blonde who was slowly approaching the bed with an IV kit and a bag of fluids.

"Dabi, my boy, you need to let them look her over. She needs to get better." Kenji's voice was stern as he sat in the old wooden chair in the far corner. His eyes held a warning, but you'd have to be fucked in the head if you thought I was letting her go.

Not a fucking chance in hell.

"What are you giving her?" I asked, gritting my teeth and pulling her closer when the blonde tried to make another small step closer.

"Just some fluids, some medication-"

"What meds? She just lost blood, she doesn't need anything-"

"Dabi." Kenji bit back, his cane slamming down on the wooden floor startling the blonde. I shifted my eyes to meet his gaze, snarling at him as he stood.

"Hotaru has been through some rather traumatic events,"

"No thanks to you," I snapped, my hand coming up to softly pet her lilac hair when she let out a soft whimper. "Shh, it's okay, Doll. Just rest. I'm here, Touya's here." I murmured while gently kissing her temple.

"Even so, she isn't the most stable. She needs her medication. This little outburst would have been avoidable if she were still taking her medication. Apparently she got a little too comfortable in her recent company and stopped." Kenji explained, irritation thick in his tone as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
