Hotaru's POV

I-Island

"COME ON!"

"HIT HER AGAIN! HIT HER AGAIN!"

"KNOCK HER ASS OUT, KOBAYASHI!"

I swiped my knuckles across my mouth to wipe the blood from my busted lip away. Spitting at the ground I stood straight, ripping my blazer off and chucked it. Laying on the ground in front of me was an upperclassman from 3-A, Nami Sasaki. Her face was littered with cuts, fresh bruising, and a mix of tears and blood. She had been harassing Lydia nonstop for the last three months. Three months of cornering her in the bathrooms, of smacking her food from her hand in the cafeteria, of spreading rumor after rumor about her all over social media.

All because Nami's piece of shit boyfriend broke up with her and decided to take a liking to Lyds. It wasn't her fault, Lyd would never so much as hurt a fly, but that didn't stop this stuck up bitch from finally fraying the last of my patience. Each time she tormented Lydia, my friend would give me the same song and dance, 'It's okay, Taru! I promise! It doesn't bother me. She's just upset. She will get bored. You don't need to get into any more trouble.'

'You don't need to get into any more trouble.'

'Any more trouble.'

All I've ever been was trouble. Everyone at the Academy walked on eggshells around me, many of the girls never so much as made eye contact. The guys? The handful that had the gall to even approach me quickly ghosted me when they found out who my Uncle was. Apparently Kenji Satsui had a bit of a reputation, enough so that I almost didn't get into the Academy. Melissa's dad, Mr. Shield had gotten me accepted through recommendations even though I passed the entrance exam with flying colors; top performer in my category. Apparently that bad aura was genetic... because I had automatically become guilty by association. I had automatically been labeled with a scarlet letter, an outcast.

Well, if they were going to treat me like a delinquent I might as well live up to their expectations.

Today was the day I was really going above and beyond with the said title of 'troublemaker.' Melissa, Lyds, and I were walking back to class from lunch when Nami and her gang of prissy, ass kissing friends knocked past us, and called Lydia a slut. I wasn't too sure why today of all days that agitated me more than normal; maybe it was the venom she said it with, maybe it was the fact I saw the tears well in Lydia's eyes, or maybe it was just because it was a fucking Tuesday and I just wasn't in the mood for it. Regardless, it ended with me throwing my pack from my shoulders and tackling the annoying blonde to the ground.

"Get the fuck up, Bitch." I sneered, kicking at her foot as she whimpered.

"What's the matter? You sure as shit can dish it out, but you can't take it? Seems pretty hypocritical, don't ya think?" She had managed to get one hit on me. Just one. That had sealed her fate. I would have been content with just rubbing her face in the dirt, but one of her shitty, gaudy rings had managed to catch my lip the wrong way. So, I made sure my fist caught her face several times. Now I would have to explain to Uncle why I got into another fight. If I was going to get in trouble, might as well make it worth it, right? So I made sure she would have reminders for the next week what would happen if she even so much as looked at Lydia again.

"Fucking pathetic." I muttered, spitting blood on her before turning to walk away. I crouched to grab my bag and walked towards the office.
