Jisung's eyes scanned over the tiny printed words on the hard pieces of paper of the cookbook. He was practicing his cooking so he could rid his mind off the scene of his visit to Felix. He had a splitting headache everytime he would think about their conversation, so he figured he would try to distract himself. He never wished to turn back time and start over. He felt so much more happier with Hyunjin and nothing was going to change that, no matter what Felix said or what he will say.
He grabbed a cutting board and a large knife before he started to dice the onions for his fried rice. He was attempting to make some orange chicken with a side of fried rice. He wasn't planning on making dinner, but he made a lot just in case anyone wanted some. Dinner together was very rare, especially with Changbin not wanting to eat as much and with Chan always gone.
Jisung dumped the onions into the wok, hearing it sizzle and pop when it touched the hot oil. He had already finished the orange chicken since he thought he was too inexperienced in the kitchen to handle multiple foods at one time. He decided to finish the orange chicken and then the fried rice afterward because it wasn't going to take long at all.
He grabbed a giant spoon and added in an egg and some black pepper and salt before he started to mix until the egg was fully scrambled. The smell of the finished chicken along with the upcoming side dish filled the kitchen. The smell attracted three cats and they started to rub against his legs and ankles, meowing for food. The smell didn't attract only the cats though.
Jisung jumped when arms wrapped around his waist from behind before a head poked over his shoulder to spectate Jisung's working hands and the food. "Wow, look at you. Cooking? Didn't think you could do that," Hyunjin chuckled, making Jisung roll his eyes.
"Well, someone in this relationship has to learn how to cook. Besides, I think it's fun and I decided to give it a shot. I'm following a cookbook though," Jisung mentioned, making Hyunjin hum before pressing a soft kiss on his neck.
"It smells amazing," Hyunjin complimented, making Jisung smile in achievement. "How was your visit with your investigator friend?"
He sighed softly. "It was just as you suspected. He thought I was being controlled or something despite me denying it. The more I denied it the more he was convinced. I didn't listen to anything he told me though, so don't worry. Can you pass me the vegetables over there?"
The taller was pleased that Jisung had listened to him so well, but he could feel some sort of emotion relating to guilt deep inside him. It was annoying how no matter how much liquid he would inject Jisung with, his feelings would never truly die for his past friends and family. More time. That's the last thing he needed. Hyunjin's arms left Jisung's waist for a quick second as he handed the big bowl of vegetables to Jisung. He turned the stove down to a lower setting before adding them in. "Thanks."
"No problem, sweetheart," Hyunjin said as his arms once again wrapped around his waist again. Hyunjin eyes widen a bit when a small dot of oil splashed onto Jisung's skin and immediately burned it, but Jisung didn't seem to flinch at all. His regeneration worked faster and his burned, red skin turned back to its normal hue almost straight away. "Your regeneration is getting quicker at healing."
"I've... been practicing," Jisung told before looking over his shoulder and pressing a soft kiss on Hyunjin's cheek. "How have you been? I haven't seen you nearly all day. You look tired," Jisung commented.
"Just been in my 'office' you can call it. Since those two friends of yours found this place, I have to make sure that no evidence of their existence was near here. Don't worry about it," Hyunjin reassured, but it did worry Jisung a bit. The Hero's Organization must be closing in on this area and it must be stressing his boyfriend out. He didn't like Hyunjin being stressed and worried.
