Seungmin was everything but okay. The poor, single father that had so much responsibility seated on his shoulders was enough to make him collapse and just sleep off the stress. The amount of meetings he has to schedule to share his future plans of Jisung's capture was enough to take up his entire agenda for the next two weeks. He doesn't have that time.
As commander of the V.I.C.U, it was his responsibility to come up with new methods of capturing villains and new ideas for new gadgets that could be used. It was also his responsibility to think of possible outcomes of each attempt to capture a villain just in case something goes wrong which was the hardest part in his opinion. Scheduling meetings and receiving either new speculations or criticism also stressed him out. If his plan was voted against, he would have to think of a new plan which could take days.
His neat handwriting was nonexistent due to his frustration of one of his co-workers missing one of the most important meetings there has been for months. Jackson Wang was the one that led the meeting and was assigning new roles and plans for each unit leader, but Minho wasn't there. He missed it and now Seungmin has to fill him in on four hours worth of classified information. Minho had made it a habit to skip meetings to find Jisung and usually Seungmin wouldn't bother catching him up, but this time he had to. It was too important to not tell him.
"Doctor hand-writing." That was the term many people used when they saw jumbled and messy letters written in cursive. Seungmin never imaged him using "doctor hand-writing" but that was the best way he could describe his responses on each paper he has filled out that day. He was in a rush. He had no time to be working on these, but the deadlines were too soon to put them aside again. His assistant, Irene, had gone off to drop off his son the apartment since it was getting late and also collecting reports from another unit he forgot the name of. There was too many of them for his liking.
He heard a knock on the door and almost flinched at the sudden sound. He didn't mean to sound annoyed or impatient but that was exactly how it came out as. He sat his pen down and sat up straight as he watched the door to his office swing open. His professional, solemn expression immediately shifted once he saw who it was.
"Well well... look who finally shows himself after two fucking hours after the meeting," Seungmin curses with anger as he crosses his arms and sits back. His anger rises when Minho's face turns into one with confusion.
"We had a meeting?"
"Minho! You can't be serious! This meeting was supposed to be top priority and Jackson himself came to lead it! Alexa had to come in to substitute your presence and the poor woman looked so out of place and nervous!" Seungmin yelled.
Minho's shoulders slumped in guilt. "Oh... I'll be sure to apologize to her. Look, I'm sorry. I... lost track of time and-"
"Lost track of time... no shit. We couldn't find you and you were gone the whole day. Why don't we hear this poor excuse of yours, huh? I'm dying to hear what you've been up to while we all sat in the meeting for four hours."
Minho hesitated; probably because he was doing something without Seungmin's consent or permission and because he would definitely be viewed differently. The commander knew that Minho was "taking care" of Hyunjin, but he didn't know that he was injecting superhuman drugs into his brain and body in order to change his character. Would Hyunjin die? Perhaps, but he deserved it. If Jisung was going to die suffering from chemicals, then he would make sure that his captor would too.
He honestly didn't realize that so much time went by down in the old laboratories. He didn't quite trust the machines keeping Hyunjin in check as his strength fluctuated. He left once he made sure that Hyunjin was completely knocked out and weak enough until his return. He would continue the process until Hyunjin changes or until his little project is shut down by Jackson Wang himself.
