Most people believe that their world is as peaceful as it could get, but it wasn't. The unknown cause of superhumans allowed people to either become extremely heroic or extremely evil. In order to prevent as many superhumans from becoming evil, the Hero's Organization came up with this idea decades ago to collect them as soon as possible to train and look after them.
Education was provided. Food was provided. Everything they could ever need was provided, but the only thing they couldn't allow was for the superhuman children to visit their families until a certain amount of time. They would take all of the children to the hero programs to train and learn, but by doing so, they would have to travel to different countries which meant that the children had to leave their families behind for a good while.
Most people would think that the families would be devastated if the Hero's Organization took their gifted child away from them, but unless you were an actual superhuman, you would know just how wrong that thought was. Jeongin knew.
In reality, the parents of the superhuman children would be offered millions of dollars to them just so they could take their child away. Since technology, medicine, and many other things were so complex to learn and required over a decade of college, it was almost impossible for people to find a really good job to earn enough money. Money was very hard to earn, so when Jeongin's poor parents were offered this, they had to take it. Of course they loved their son, but they knew that it was for the best.
Jeongin has a younger brother that still needs to be taken care of. Jeongin's parents knew that if they took up this offer, everyone would be taken care of. It was hard not to think about it, but Jeongin didn't like how he was technically bought. There was so much more to the process, but Jeongin wasn't at the position to know yet since he was still in training. Perhaps he will never know though because of his current situation.
Jeongin didn't really know how else to describe how he was feeling except that he was hurt. Extremely hurt. The pain he has been struggling to resist brought him to tears immediately and as the days went on, he felt as though his life was slowly slipping away. His superhuman energy was fading, meaning that his abilities and strength was fading with it aswell, leaving him as nothing more than a regular human.
A superhuman's body was seven times stronger than a normal human, but if they did manage to break a bone, the time to heal would mean that it would take seven times longer. This was one of the main reasons why the Hero's Organization created medicine specifically for superhumans. Their bodies were different and required different amounts of things such the amount of water or food they need.
Jeongin was being tortured what felt like every single day. How did he survive for this long might you ask? Well, Hyunjin has been injecting him with a certain healing liquid which allowed him to regain his strength and allow his wounds to heal, but before he was strong enough to actually do anything, Hyunjin would torture him all over again. It was a never-ending cycle.
So here he was, blindfolded, gagged, and chained up against the wall. His wrists were bound above his head and his feet were chained to the floor, preventing him from moving an inch. He didn't know how long it has been, but for him, it felt like an eternity passed. His body was drenched in sweat and blood and it was definitely obvious he was extremely malnourished. He has been starved more than he could count and has broken more bones than one could imagine. In such a state, it would take a very long time for him to recover without superhuman medication. However, the villain has been giving him so much unknown medication that more could lead to him overdosing. Recovery could take years at this point.
The blindfold was pressing right up against his wounded, black eye. The gag was drenched in his saliva and the blood he has coughed up many times. His neck was hurting so bad from his head constantly leaning forward and his feet were tingling painfully due to him standing for so long. His wrists were hurting from being bound by metal restraints. His body was covered in bruises and there will definitely be many, many scars, but he could care less about what he looked like for now. All he cared about was his life, but as time went on, he started to wish he was dead.
