79 | Part Two

For some reason, chapter 79 is appearing before chapter 78 and even after unpublishing and republishing, it went before 78 😐

Idk if it's appearing before 78 for y'all, but for me it is. I'm putting this here just in case.

Seizures were common after his second dosage of the SHDML. Blood erupting from his mouth was also common. So was mental and emotional break downs due to his brain reacting to the toxic liquid. Realization struck him when he injected the liquid found inside his pocket and as a result he went crazy.

Jisung's love for Hyunjin strengthened due to the second dosage and their separation. Despite realizing that Hyunjin used him and did things without his consent, he still found himself yearning for him. He knew now about everything: the injections, manipulation, the possessive behavior. He knew about it all now, but he still wanted him. He even knew that this liquid was controlling his feelings, but he couldn't stop it now.

The feelings felt so natural. It was hard for his mind to wrap around the fact that he probably only loved Hyunjin because of the amount of toxic SHDML inside him. His brain just wouldn't accept that. Everything he felt for Hyunjin just felt too real for a stupid liquid to control the way he reacts and feels.

"Jisung, we can't do anything right now. We can't just go in without a pl-"

"It's been weeks, Changbin! How long do we have to wait to come up with a plan and then execute it?!" Jisung cut off for the fifth time. "Don't you want to save Chan? Why are you willing to wait so long?"

Their argument couldn't be heard by anyone except the Pirate King who Jisung was warned to have an ability of omnipresence. They were at the royal garden of the Kaizoku UnderCity Palace which was a kingdom located beneath the Kaizoku islands where Ateez lived.

It was a giant open space beneath the islands surrounded by shining rocks and glowing crystals which was their only source of light. Jisung didn't understand how the kingdom worked or how the island did. He just remembered seeing a flying Manta ray above him before disappearing into a hole in the rock barrier. Despite it looking like it was flying, it was actually just swimming through air.

All sea creatures did this. They would swim across the open air and eventually either stay in the kingdom or migrate somewhere else beyond the safety of the barrier. The creatures were a lot more colorful too as the magical crystals surrounding the city gave their skin an opportunity to shine with neon colors. These crystals allowed the kingdom to glow with bright, festive colors, making it look like an actual paradise. A paradise that made people not want to leave.

Changbin's hair and eyes were affected by the giant crystals since they appeared to be glowing. Not too brightly, but enough for it to be noticeable. His frostbitten skin was no longer present thanks to Jisung's ability that managed to get even stronger than before. Jisung healed Wooyoung's wounds as well with reluctance, but Seonghwa had promised him information if he did. The information, in short, did not make him feel better.

The male glared at Jisung slightly, trying to be patient with him. "I do want to save Chan, Jisung, but we can't just do it without a plan. Seonghwa told us he had one but it wasn't time yet. Let's be patient. In the mean time, we should train. That ability won't help us or you if you still can't control it."

"I can control it. It just... has some draw backs," Jisung finished before smacking away a small glowing blue sea horse that tried to entangle its tail into his hair. However, it just came right back. "I hate this place. I don't understand why we can't just stay above the kingdom. On the actual island."
