Love was such a powerful emotion. An indescribable feeling. It was something that consisted of many different perspectives, opinions, and experiences. Some welcome the feeling with open arms and allow the sensation inside their chest to guide them forward in life. Some try to resist it, fearful of the horrible outcomes that could possibly happen or repeat. Some don't care and don't think too much of it and others may never experience such a wonderful emotion.

To Jisung, love was something he always wanted in his life, whether that be from family, friends, or a lover. However, things have changed drastically over the past year. His ties with his family have been severed and his past friends were either locked up inside the same building he was in or too far in his memories to recollect. The closest love he can receive was from his boyfriend, Hyunjin, but was this really love?

As a superhuman, he could detect other's emotions. Perhaps not as well as other experienced ones, but he could still single out the main emotions such as anger, despair, or happiness. However, the only downfall was that he didn't know what love felt like. He had always believed that the warm feeling he could feel from Hyunjin's aura was love. Maybe he was correct and it was love, but why has it started to become... so cold?

Too cold.

He no longer felt the warm feeling again. He didn't realize it until last night after their argument. He had been feeling it for a while, but never thought too much of it. Did Hyunjin's love for him change? Was he no longer sharing the same amount of love he used to before? Was his love for Jisung... dying?

Jisung didn't know this, but a superhuman having aura detection was there for a reason. It was to protect him from danger, liars, manipulators, or anybody that would take advantage of him. With aura detection, it was almost impossible to hide what you were feeling unless you had a power to shield it or you were very skilled with the ability. Every superhuman has some level of skill with aura detection, even if they never practiced or trained to fully master it.

Unfortunately for Jisung, he didn't have this knowledge. He didn't know that his own aura detection ability was telling him to run away. Even as a superhuman, he still shared the same flight or fight mode when it came to danger. His ability was telling him to flee as it had detected evil gradually growing more inside the man he loves. Everything was telling him to run away except his heart.

He was hopelessly in love. He didn't know why he still had such a deep attachment to Hyunjin after all he has realized and experienced with him. It was like something was threatening his heart to keep the love he had for him or else something bad would happen. Trying to convince himself to do something about all of this gave him a painful heartache and chest pains. He eventually gave up though after remembering how pathetic and indecisive he was. His mind and heart could never agree on anything.

Jisung let out a sudden striek when he felt an unexpected, painful sting to the side of his neck. His immediate reaction to the intrusion of the sharp needle was to jerk and move away from it, but he couldn't. Not with all of his limbs strapped down securely on the restraint table. A white gloved hand had captured his chin to hold his head still as the needle started to inject whatever the hell was inside the syringe... and whatever was inside of it... was a lot.

"Sorry, love, but I can't have you so tense like this when I operate on you. I tried to talk to you, but it appears that you are still acting childish. I have no choice but to give you this," Hyunjin's voice could be heard from above him as he stood beside the restraint table to finish injecting the unknown substance into his body.

Jisung forced back his tears, not liking how his body tried to recoil away from his lover's touch while his heart yearned for more. He was confused and lost, but when was he never confused? It hurt to realize that Hyunjin was right about him being difficult.
