Harry moved from where he was standing over to Liam, his eyes wide and brimming with tears. "What is Louis saying, Li? What does he m-mean by kidney problems?" Liam sighed and looked between Harry and Zayn, who both had varying looks of shock on their faces. Louis was still clueless as to what he had done, focusing on the somehow fascinating beer can in his hands. "Umm, you know how I told you I went to the dump a few days ago to look for a part for my car?" Harry nodded at the boy. "Well, I lied. I went to the doctor because I had been having some pain around the area where my kidney was when I would drink and I would always get really sick the next day, even if I hadn't drank that much. So, she examined me and she discovered that one of my kidneys is scarred and it doesn't work properly."
Harry gasped and clapped a hand over his mouth, his tears threatening to spill over at any moment. "No no no, Haz. I'm fine. We're not crying about this, okay?"He pulled Harry into a hug and ran a hand over his curls. "Don't worry, I'm perfectly fine, I'm just not allowed to drink anymore until I get it checked out by a specialist. I promise you, darling, I'm not at risk at all. The worst that could happen is they take it out just because it doesn't work, but I doubt they'll do that since it's not causing me any problems. I'm not sick or anything. I feel great." Harry sighed, still freaked out from just hearing about it, but he wiped his eyes and pulled away from Liam. "Promise?" Liam nodded and linked his pinky up with Harry's. "I pinky promise, love. Now, let's all sit down and hang out, alright?"
The two boys sat back down at the table, Harry leaving space for Luke to sit next to him on his right. Louis took his place in between Liam and Zayn, leaving Luke the only one standing. "Baby? Come here. I've saved you a spot right next to me." Luke took a deep breath and then sat next to Harry, keeping his distance from Zayn, who had also formed a sort of dislike for him. "There you go. Want a beer?" Luke nodded and took a beer from Harry, opening it to take a sip. He set it back down and swallowed, wrapping his free arm around Harry's shoulders. "Wanna taste, baby?" Harry wrinkled his nose and shook his head at the older boy. "Eww, no. I don't like alcohol." Liam snorted. "When have you ever tried alcohol, Harry?"
Harry blushed and looked between Louis and his older brother. "Uh, Louis let me taste his wine when we went to that cafe. I didn't like it at all." Harry's face twisted up as he remembered the taste of the wine. "Louis." The older boy shied away at Liam's reprimanding tone. "Sorry, didn't know he wasn't even allowed to have a small sip of wine." Liam rolled his eyes at the boy. "Don't sound so sarcastic, Louis. You wouldn't like it if Lottie drank, would you?" He smiled in triumph, knowing he had beaten Louis. "I guess," The boy mumbled into his shirt. Liam leaned over, putting a hand on his ear. "Sorry? I didn't hear you, mate." Louis sighed and looked at Liam. "I said I guess I would care if Lottie drank." Liam grinned and patted him on the back. "Thank you for admitting defeat."
"So, Haz, how long have you and Luke been together?" Louis asked, turning to the couple sitting across from him. "About two weeks, give or take a day," Harry answered, smiling sweetly at the boy next to him. "Oh. So you two got together, like, right after I left. Wow. That's...fast." Louis exhaled loudly and took a big swig of his beer, splashing a bit on his chin. "Yeah, but it's not like I had anything to get over. Zayn just got his number for me and we started texting and...here we are. Now I have a beautiful boyfriend." Harry looked at Luke with a sickening love stare, making the other three boys make gagging motions while Harry and Luke weren't looking. "So, are you two fucking or what? "
The table fell into yet another awkward silence, this one also at the hands of Louis, who was slowly getting tipsier and tipsier. "Uh, Lou, that's not really appropriate to discuss right now. Or ever." Harry's hands got twitchy and he dropped them to his lap, picking at his fingernail beds. "Well, I just want to know. You two seem pretty serious and I've seen all those love bites on your neck. Just figured you two were probably sleeping together." Harry and Liam both turned a deep red color, Harry in embarrassment and Liam in anger. "Louis, please, just stop," Harry pleaded with the boy, his voice soft. "Why? What's wrong? I'm just asking a simple question, you're the one digging yourself deeper into a hole by not answering me."
Liam finally snapped, his fists gripping the table so hard his knuckles turned white, and he stood up, dragging Harry and Luke out of the room. "Both of you explain." Harry looked at Liam with wide eyes, not understanding the command. "Well, come on then. Explain to me what you two are doing." Luke coughed uncomfortably, looking between Harry and the older boy. "What do you mean, Liam?" Liam scoffed at the boy. "Oh, don't act so innocent, Luke. Explain what you and my brother have been doing together for the last two weeks, because it seems like Louis has seen you two doing a lot since he's been back." Luke looked over to Harry for help. "We haven't...gone all the way yet. But, we have, like, messed around a lot. That's it, though," Harry said, scared that Liam was going to hate him.
"I promise, he hasn't seen my dick yet. That's only for a special occasion," Luke added, making it worse than it already was. Liam's fists clenched and he had to physically hold himself back to keep from tackling the boy. "Hey! You do not fucking say shit like that! That's my little brother you're talking about, in case you've forgotten. I want you to get out of my sight. Right now." Luke stepped back, confused by Liam's words. "I said get out. You can see Harry again when I say you can. Now leave." Luke nodded and walked through the kitchen and out the door, slamming it shut behind him. "Sorry, kiddo, but I had to do it. He was really pissing me off." Harry waved Liam away. "It's okay. I know how you get about that stuff. Now come on, let's go back in. Louis and Zee probably miss us." Liam followed Harry back into the kitchen, sitting down between Louis and Harry to keep them separate. He still didn't exactly trust Louis, though he liked him a hell of a lot more than he liked Luke.
