One year later,
Prague, Summer 2024

"Yes, Daisy. I have it already, don't worry. Charlie made sure I got the dress that he sent."

"I still can't believe that kid is getting married." Says her on the phone.

I let out a small laugh, "I know, me too. Even I'm still single and I turn 30 this year."

Daisy laughs, "You're not if you're open to guys who are attracted to you... anyways, when are you going to be here?"

"Next Friday, I know the wedding is on Saturday, and I feel bad for not being able to help around but I have to work on my thesis. Professor Ivan's driving me crazy here."

Yes, I'm almost done with my master's degree in the same university to which Professor Ivan gave me the scholarship after I got back from Tokyo. It's only one year of study yet I have so much to revise.

"Okay, then. Well... I already set you up a date for the wedding. His name is Keith, very charming, successful, and smart. I'm sure you two will hit it off." She excitedly says.

I snort, "What? I'm fine going alone."

"Oh, come on... do you want me to set you up with two or three guys instead?" She teases me.

I laugh, "No, thanks but I appreciate the humor."

"Just try to be open to him, at least..."

"Yup, I hear ya... thanks again. I'll see you next week."

"Bye, love ya!"

"Love ya back."

I never take it seriously every time Daisy's trying to set me up with someone. Yeah, I mean I went on dates a few times, but I never took it seriously. I know how selfish it may seem, but dating is just not something I look forward to anymore.

I'm back to my laptop to finish my report for Professor Ivan. He said he emailed me something, but I didn't see it. I click on the junk mails to check.

Yup, there it is. Another revision that he sent. But why did it land on my junk mail? It's making me curious about what kind of other email landed here. As I scroll down, I found something odd.

It's an invitation to an art exhibit. From a company that I surely know well in the past.

"What the heck is this?"

It's an invitation for the opening of the Big HIt Art Museum, which holds an art exhibit called "Eleven years: Tribute to The Bulletproof Boys." The description says, that I am one of the biggest contributors as one of the artists who participated in this exhibition. The work 7 Pieces will be one of the works that will be presented in the exhibition.

WHAT?!

I'm suddenly dizzy and confused. When did I contribute? How did they...

Wait, was it Tokyo Art Festival? They were the ones who bought all of my paintings?!

I quickly email the director of the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum to find out if it's true. Last year, on the last day of the festival, I was informed that someone bought all of my paintings. It was really surprising and honestly, a little odd. Like, the chances are so small to have someone bought all of your works, but I wasn't one who complains about it. I just considered myself lucky and blessed because really, it boosted up my career since then. It was all over the art articles, that I successfully got a mysterious collector who bought all of my works.

The director said that the collector wanted it to be anonymous and only said he is a fan of my work. I knew it was too weird because I'm basically a newbie back then. No one notices me as an artist yet.
