The housekeeper was shocked to see you up so early in the morning and making breakfast. You were singing a song under your breath, pausing when you noticed her walk in. Her shock only grew when she saw you prepare the table and even served her a plate. She was going to ask you about your sudden mood but quickly realized what was up when she saw you smelling the bouquet of red roses that were on the center of the table. Your parents then walked in and thought nothing of your behavior. They were too focused on their newspapers and talking about work. They only realized something was up after you had kissed their cheeks goodbye.
"Florence," Your mom looked down from her newspaper. "What was that just now?"
"A kiss on the cheek, Madame. It's a sign of affection" Florence wiped her mouth with a napkin. Your cooking has gotten a bit better.
"I know that" Your mom sighed. "But she has never done that before."
Gasping, she turned to your dad. "Did she murder someone? Was it Mr. Arbeit from down the street? The drunkard that beats his kids."
"No. He hasn't done anything of the sort after she hustled him in poker last week at the club. The poor man almost peed his pants with all of the subtle threats she made. I heard he's currently living at their summer house, away from the family," Your dad shook his head. "It must have been that transphobic grandmother of her friend's. You know how she always hated the woman."
"Gosh, we shouldn't have let her see that one movie when she was younger. Now she's a vigilante." Your mom rubbed the bridge of her nose.
"It could have been worse. She could have chosen to be the villain. At least she has good morals"
"Not. Helping."
Florette couldn't help laugh at the couple's antics. They turned to her. Your mom placed her cup of coffee down. "What's so funny, Florence?"
"(y/n) didn't murder anyone," She got up and began putting away the dishes. "At least not that I know of."
Your parents stared at her, still confused. If you didn't cause any trouble in the name of righteous justice, then why are you in a giddy mood? Florence looked back at them in disbelief. Have they seriously forgotten so much about their own daughter?
"Seriously, you two?" She sighed. "(y/n) is in love."
The housekeeper then walked out of the dining room with a light chuckle. Your happy mood had spread to her. Your parents' faces fell and they looked at each other.
"Oh."
----
Everyone was able to notice the bright mood you were in today. You had a little skip to your step and greeted everyone you passed with a smile. It sort of surprised and scared them. With your reputation, it's sort of hard to tell whether you just punched a racist in the jaw or you obtained one of the limited edition albums of one of your favorite bands. Or both. It was anyone's guess.
"Looks like someone had a good morning," Owen appeared beside you.
"I did, thank you very much," You smiled. You coughed up a whole bouquet of blue violets, but you didn't mention that. You were too focused on the fact that you now have a girlfriend to even care about the pain in your chest.
"Hey, (y/n)" Your friends greeted you. Ruben leaned against his locker while Grace stuffed some of her things in Lucien's. "How'd the first writing session go?"
"Amazing" You beamed. "While working on the song, I kept hearing splashes of water, and he told me that he lives on a ship. But not just on any houseboat - no - he lives on a pirate ship! His sister and mom popped in as well, and I got to say hi on speaker. Oh! And we found out that we're playing the same video games right now, so we played a bit when we finished. I didn't get to bed until three in the morning"
