Chapter One: Moon Anklet

Lindrey: Nandito na aq. San ka kayoooo?

Lailane: Otw. Traffic e.

Patricia: 10AM ang call time. Nandito na ako.

: On the way.

Lindrey: pOta. Ang aga mo talaga palagi, Pat.

Patricia: Hinatid ako ni papa. Asan na iba guuuuys? All alone ako dito.

Pinatay ko na ang cellphone ko after kong magreply at mabasa ang maingay na group chat ng section namin. Napatingin ako sa wall clock ng kwarto ko sa bahay ni tita. It's almost 9AM and here I am, lying comfortably on my bed while drying my hair. Actually, 6 AM palang ay gising na ako, it's just that, I don't feel like moving so soon so I made myself busy reading my medical books. Malapit na ang upcoming exams namin for finals and there are tons of lessons to re-learn and to learn more.

Besides, I have difficulty in sleeping. Instead of staring blankly for hours to make myself sleepy, its far better if I'll make myself busy. If I'll study. With that, I'll have my gain.

NANG matapos kong patuyuin ang buhok ko ay tumayo na ako. The song continued to play as I sang along with it. I couldn't understand the lyrics completely other than its English lyrics, but the tune of the song suits my emotions well. Kumuha ako ng isang gray v-neck shirt and a black skinny pants.

I braided my hair as a finishing touch after I put some pressed powder and dark maroon lipstick, and after that, pinatay ko na ang music sa loob ng kwarto ka tsaka lumabas na ako ng kwarto ko para mag-almusal.

Tita's on the kitchen when I put my bag on the bar counter. I didn't bother to speak. Moments later, a soft fur touched my foot. Napatingin ako sa ibaba, and there I saw my Persian cat, eclipse.

"Meow." She purred her head on my foot.

I smiled and kneeled down and pets Eclipse, na gustong gusto naman ng bruhilda kong pusa. Maybe that's her way of greeting me a good morning, and wishing me a good day ahead. "Good Morning, baby. Have you seen the moon yesterday?" I talked to my cat.

The moon was on its peak yesterday. It was fascinating to look at. The moon was able to lighten up the darkness yesterday until the sun rises early this morning. With the cold breeze touching against my skin, and a hot chocolate drink on my cup, the moon was able to send me to—at least, peaceful sleep even just for hours. The moon chased my nightmares away for a short period of time.

"Mabuti pa sa pusa, marunong kang mag-good morning." It was my cousin, Pauline. I tried my hardest not to glare at her. Umangat ang tingin ko sa kaniyan habang ang kamay ko ay nanatiling nakahawak kay Eclipse.

"Ta, alis na po ako." I said. I didn't wait for any response. I grabbe my bag before going. Nilampasan ko na lang si Pauline para wala nang gulo. They obviously don't want me here.
