CHAPTER EIGHT

AM I OKAY?

warning:

self harm

I can feel how my blood left my whole body. I felt shivers as I look at Casper's chest in between me, and Pauline. He was grinning. I can't even feel my breathing.

I was speechless and so Pauline, gritting her teeth out of anger. Technically, I was looking at Casper's chest in front of me, but I know I'm looking emotionlessly at Pauline yet, moments later, my cousin angrily put the glass near the sink before walking out. Maybe she was disappointed not to spill the tea on my face and embarrass me.

"Ang maldita 'nun ah." Casper took a step back after Pauline left. I almost looked up at him, but because he steps back, wasn't able to. I blinked before I hurriedly went inside the cleaning room to get the mop. I wiped the spilled water on the floor

Casper keep looking at me getting the idea that I couldn't talk with him. It would be weird. After finishing mopping the floor, I ascended to my room, not minding the coffee. I'll get back to it later.

"What the fuck, Casper?" I closed my door and locked it before I sat on my sofa.

"What?" Natatawa pa siya. "You literally looked like someone who saw a ghost. You're pale."

"Anong ginagawa mo rito?" I asked instead. I can feel the loud beats of my heart. I breathe heavily. I was too shock seeing him, but good enough that I was able to conceal my emotions.

"The funeral's done. They buried me." He shrugged and took his seat on my study table. "I just paid you a visit."

My forehead ceased upon hearing it. Right. Today is Sunday. Maybe he spent this day for his funeral. "I see..."

He just smiled before looking around. My room is almost dark. I have dim lights in my room since bulb light hurts my eye because of my eye problem, and I only have my study lamp, and the huge glass window beside my bed is enough to lighten up my room. There's a small post lights around the house so it was a little help, plus the light of the moon. It was relaxing for me.

"Cool." He whispered.

"Pwede ka nang umuwi." I said.

Napalingon siya sa'kin bago napailing. "I need to have a talk with you."

I raised my eye brow. I stood up and walked towards my study table to close my book, and fix my notes. It's almost midnight, and maybe talking to Casper could give me a break. I can't ask him how did he get here because he obviously sent me home days ago with a purpose. It would be non-sense.

"You see, I don't have a nice place to stay." He cleared his throat. He can't even look at me when I face him. He was like a kid asking something for his mom, that surely won't be granted for it is impossible...or unreasonable.

My lips rose up. "Nakikitira lang 'rin ako."

His expression was placed with confusion. "I thought that was your sister?"

I can feel the disgust on me as I heard it, and imagine myself having a sister like Pauline. She's a selfish, and jealous bitch. I'm far from being like that.

"Kadiri ha." I rolled my eyes. "Kung kapatid ko ganyan, itatapon ko 'yan."

He chuckled. "Maybe you're staying here because it's near your school?" he asked.
