CHAPTER TEN:
PRETTY
"Ang cute talaga."
I rolled my eyes as I heard Casper teasing me again because of my clothes. I was wearing an Off-Shoulder Plaid Pattern Lapel Long sleeve blouse with my black pants and rubber shoes, since our school doesn't require any uniforms to wear as long as it's presentable. Casper saw me and I looked like a kid in his eyes. I ignored him.
I get my keys in by bag while my other hand was holding the pile of my books. I unlocked my car, and Casper followed me, but then when he saw me struggling with my books, he laughed.
"Mukha kasing senior high." I bit my lips to stop myself from talking. The family driver's there, watering the plants. I couldn't talk just like that as much as I want to answer Casper too. I'm slowly getting pissed, but if I did, that would put me in a weird situation.
Casper pierced through my car. I'm starting to get used to it, slowly. I saw it few times already, so it's just a sight to see, and being with a ghost is the main subject here. If I'll get used to his presence, I shouldn't mind the creepy things that comes along with him.
I sighed and I just raised my eyebrows and shrugged before getting inside my car and depositing my things on the backseat.
"Sugar Mommy. I need food." I was about to start my car when I heard Casper again. This time, his voice was like a kid pleading over something to his mom. I keep on ignoring him but he keeps on teasing me since this morning. No, I chose to ignore him as I started to drive. I don't want to talk to him
I'm still calming myself. I didn't like what I heard again. I just chose to shut my mouth. I might say something out of my thoughts, and I will not be able to take it back, except saying sorry. Nasa isip ko pa 'rin ang sinabi niya.
Admit huh? Admit what? That I'm not okay, that I am bothersome again? Was that it?
Out of my thoughts, I started to step on the gas as hard as I could when we're already on the highway. I put my earphone in my ears, eating every word came out from Casper's mouth. My lips slowly rose up.
Masks aren't made to reveal what should be hidden in the first place.
Nagulat nalang ako nang biglang may humila ng earphones sa tenga ko. I slowed down my pace as I glanced at Casper. His brows were furrowed. I glared at him, but he stared bac at me as I did something wrong.
"What the fuck is your fucking trip?" I hissed. I looked in front again, but my peripheral view saw Casper sighed. Kinuha niya ang cellphone ko at may pinindot. He probably turned the music off.
"Galit ka ba?" He asked.
"No." I answered automatically. Why would I be mad if mad is an understatement to what I feel?
"Why are you acting like that?" He asked again.
"I'm always like this." My brows furrowed, stepping on the gas again.
"Nemesis, slow down." His voice was firm, but I didn't. Mas lalo pa akong tumapak sa gas. Good thing it wasn't traffic so I was able to play in the middle of the highway. My car is designed for this anyway.
"Nemesis!" he shouted at me but it was no used until I saw the tail of the familiar traffic. I slammed my hand on the steering wheel, making a sound from the horn. I rested my back on my seat.
"May nasabi ba akong mali?" He asked after a short silence.
"Wala naman." I answered.
"I'm sorry if I did say something..." He sighed. I blinked hearing him sigh, but it didn't get my attention that long as his words sink into me. My heart skipped a beat.
