Chapter Fourteen: Disrespect

CHAPTER FOURTEEN: 

DISRESPECT 

I don't have classes the next day. It's our free day so I didn't wake up early since I won't be prepare for something. I'm already up at 9AM. Casper's still asleep while Eclipse sleeping on his legs, but when my cat saw me awake, she came with me downstairs.

My auntie and my cousin's already gone for their own business so I was able to move inside the house freely even just for few hours. I went outside and watered the plants. It's been days since the rain poured so the plants are almost dry, needing water. I also swept the dried leaves along the garden.

"Good Morning..." I heard a familiar voice. I looked back and I saw Casper still yawning while walking towards me.

"Morning..." I whispered back. Some helpers are around, they might see me talking to someone they couldn't see and they will tell it to Auntie and my cousin, and they'll fuss about it. I much as I want, I need a peaceful living here. I need silence. I don't want a talk.

"May katulong naman kayo, ba't hindi sila ang gumagawa niyan?" Casper asked. He held the black trash bag and I threw the dry leaves that I swept. He followed me around the whole morning.

My brows furrowed. "I want to clean this so sabi ko ako nalang..."

He hummed and helped me to clean the garden, and backyard. It's almost lunch time when we were done cleaning. Good thing the garden has a small tree, and there's enough shade so I my skin wouldn't get burnt, meanwhile, I saw how rays of the sun pierced through Casper like he's just a piece of thin air.

I sighed.

"I'm hungry. Hindi ako nakapag-almusal." He whined while I was knotting the trash bag.

"I'll cook, don't worry." I assured him. I carried the trash bag outside the gate since the schedule of Garbage truck is today. After that, I went inside the kitchen and started to cook for something. The helpers prepared the kitchen for me, half-hearted.

"What do you want?" I asked scrolling through my phone.

"Kahit ano kakainin ko, basta ikaw nagluto." I stopped scrolling through my phone when I heard him. He chuckled seeing my reaction, and even pointed my face but I couldn't react. He took advantage of it to tease me.

I just ignored him and he went inside the maid's quarter. I sliced some onions, and garlic for my macaroni spaghetti when the two helpers of the house went outside from their room. I looked at them, and my forehead turned into a knot when I saw them both pale. The room's sound proof like mine so I didn't get to hear anything but I guess Casper did something over it.

"Why? Anong nangyari sa inyo?" I asked.

They shook their head. Almost trembling. "G-gumalaw po 'yung table at upuan sa l-loob..."

I bit my lips.

Casper, you dumb fuck.

"What?" I tried to fake my surprise.

They just ignored me and both went outside out of fear. Moments later, Casper came out, with a grin on his face. He looked at me, while I glared back at him, and continued what I was doing.

"You dumb fuck."

"Ang sakit sa tainga ng sigaw nila, potek..." Casper burs out a laughter. I don't know but I found myself chuckling as well. The terror in the face of two helpers crossed my mind, and I just can't help but to let my laugh out.
