CHAPTER FORTY SEVEN:
LEAVE
IT WAS A TIGHT HUG.
There is no word after that, but a single tear, from Casper's eyes as if he recognized something, and after that, it was a tight hug like he doesn't want to let go. He was just silent, and I just let him. We stayed that way for a few minutes.
He smiled at me.
"Don't you like me?" I asked straight forwardly. I don't know where I got the guts to ask him that after a long silence of confession, but I just realized, I have been always like this. I don't hesitate at things, and there's nothing to be afraid of. These changes in me...it felt like I'm being back to my old self without doing anything.
What the hell is this?
Casper shook his head. "This closeness..." bulong niya.
Napakunot ang noo ko. "What do you mean?"
He distanced himself as he chuckled. "Wala, wag mong intindihin. Marami akong babae kaya sabi ko, déjà vu..."
I stared at him and didn't respond. I frowned at what he did but before I could complain, he pulled me. He pulled me somewhere in the corner of the cabin, and there's when I notice a small door.
"What are you—" I stilled when he opened it, and a stair greeted my sight. It's dark, and only the light coming from the cabin was the source.
"Lika, celebrate tayo valentine's diba?" he asked before pulling me carefully. He walked slowly, leveling my phase. Mahigpit ang kapit ko sa kamay niya. My eyes squinted when a cold wind touched my skin, and immediately swayed my hair.
We're in the cabin's rooftop.
"Whoo, sarap ng hangin!" Casper pulled me excitedly.
We're in a rooftop of a cabin, in a middle of a nowhere cliff! I wasn't able to say anything and just let Casper pull me to the edge of the rooftop. There was no railings like the common roof top but a cemented barrier, leveled to our knees.
"Your cabin has rooftop?" I asked.
"Hindi, cloud 9 'to." Sagot ni Casper.
"Huh?" I frowned.
"Cloud—"
"Huhnap ka kausap mo." I cut him off and looked at our surroundings below. I can see the almost star like lightings of the city. Antipolo is a high location, almost nearing mountain, and for sure, seeing this, we must be somewhere part of the mountain, unnoticed.
"Marunong ka na talaga!" Casper wrapped his arms around my nape. "Takot ako sa heights, pero kapag nakikita ko 'tong ganito... parang ang saya. Parang ang tahimik..."
"This is indeed a safe place." Komento ko.
"Hmm," he nodded. "This is far from the city."
"Are you always here?" I asked.
"Hindi," he answered. "Kailangan kong bantayan si Cianna e. Minsan, kapag may pasok si Cianna tas tinatamad akong mambabae."
"Do you miss it?" I asked.
"Ang alin?"
"Living. Bedding woman from time to time, and such." Diretso ang tingin ko sa cliff. It's dark, but the lights from the city kept the darkness glowing along with the crescent moon. Napatingala ako. "Your old life..."
