Chapter Thirty Four: Control

CHAPTER THIRTY FOUR: 

CONTROL 

Casper moved his head sideways as our eyes met. Confusion was evident in his face, while he was holding a food...and was about to take a bite on it. Napako siya sa kinatatayuan niya habang ako ay hinihingal.

"Nandito ka?" he spoke so calmly. Napakurap ako at doon lang ako natauhan bigla. I avoided his gaze, and turned my back on him to close the door I left open because of I don't know what reason. Pabagsak ko iyong sinara dahil bigla akong nairita at nahiya.

"May bisita si Nemesis—" I heard Heidee, and her words left hanging when our eyes met.

"Mama mo, bisita." I snorted and removed my shoes. I walked past them and placed my bag on the center table. Pareho silang natahimik na dalawa at nagktinginan pa. They're obviously puzzled why I'm here even though I said that I'll be off with my friends to drink.

"Akala ko ba, may inom kayo?" Heidee asked.

I sat on the sofa and rested my back on it. I tried to calm myself down, and my beating heart. I closed my eyes before answering them. I felt my cheeks reddening, and embarrassment slowly building up inside me.

Akala ko nga 'rin may inom kami e.

"Masakit 'yong tiyan ko." Pinanindigan ko na ang palusot ko mula kanina pa. At least, I got to save my face and my pride, lalo na't nandito si Heidee. The playful smile crept on Heidee's lips was too obvious that she wants to piss me off.

"May sakit ka?" Casper asked immediately, and in an instant, I heard his footsteps, and I felt his palm on my forehead, and my neck, checking if I was really sick.

"Ano ba?" Napadilat ako ng mata dahil sa ginawa niya. The nerves of mine I was calming down went haywire again when his face were just few inches away from me. I remained my eye contact with him, and he was too quick to avoid it in an instant.

"Namumula ka...okay ka lang ba?" he sounded so worried. "Dami kasing nilagay 'nung president niyo sa plate mo e. Hindi ka naman sanay kumain nang marami."

And I'm sorry for Violet for being involved to this shit.

I just blinked my eyes, staring at his face. I heave a breath. "D-do you really wanna know why I'm here?" I asked, and that question came out in my mouth naturally as if I don't want to lie to him.

Napaiwas siya nang tingin. He looked at Heidee, and I did too. Nagkatinginan kami ni Heidee, and she just shrugged and turned her back on us before saying, "I'll cook some food, pinakialam na namin ni Casper iyong kusina mo."

I was a relief too that she went out of the picture. Bumalik ang tingin sa akin ni Casper bago umupo sa tabi ko.

"Nemesis..." he called.

I avoided his gaze. "Let's not talk about it. Gusto ko lang umuwi kaagad. I'm not really in the mood to drink."I said dismissingly.

"Nemesis—"

"Sinabing ayokong pag-usapan." I said and stood up. I was about to walk away when he held my wrist tight, and I winced. It was too late for me to realize my reaction, and Casper immediately removed my wrist watch where I was hiding my scars.

"Anak ng—ano 'to?" He looked up at me, with his brows furrowed when he saw my fresh scars I did when I was takin a bath. Everything is too much to me, and I have to let it out—and the last time I did it was the time we first came here in my unit. I feel like exploding already, and I have to ease them by cutting letting myself feel physical pain.
