Chapter Thirty Eight: Live Again

CHAPTER THIRTY EIGHT

LIVE AGAIN

We took few shots, solo pictures of our outfits. I was wearing the red shirt, with my white jumpsuit on it. Heidee on the other hand was wearing a red fitted dress, that hugged her perfect curves. Napapatitig tuloy ako sa kaniya. It's not that I'm interested in her but, she's not the type of a woman that would wear that of dress. We had a group selfie, partner shots, and a photo with eclipse. I don't know but since then, Casper was very fond of my cat.

Despite of how happy our pictures were, despite of having a not good terms with Casper, he still held my hand tight, as if he was getting his energy to make himself visible for the photo that we're going to take...for memories. Muli na namang bumigat ang dibdib ko dahil sa naisip. I immediately tried to put the idea at the back of my mind. 15 minutes before the clock to finally strike at 12. It's minutes away from Christmas, but Casper and I are not in good terms.

I went upstairs to get the t-shirt I bought for Casper, as well as the gift of him, and Heidee. I was holding them as I descended down stairs, sighing. Wala sila ni Heidee nang makababa ako sa living room. I roamed around, only to hear voices coming from the balcony where the foods are already there. I walked towards the balcony, and I can clearly hear Casper's voice, annoying Heidee.

"Uy, wag mo i-delete! Sayang!"

I saw Casper sitting on the floor, with Heidee beside him. This time, Casper gained his strength right away after making himself visible, but as I look at him now, I know that he still feel weak because of what he did a while ago.

Nang makita ako ni Casper papasok sa Balcony ay mabilis siyang ngumiti at kumaway. "Nemesis oh! Dine-delete niya 'yung pictures natin kanina!"

I looked at Heidee, and she just shook her head. "You look like a shit. May maayos naman na picture."

"Kiber ko ba! Just leave it like that. Ugly ones, and pretty ones! Memories 'yan natin. Christmas together!" Casper whined like a kid.

I looked at Heidee meaningfully, and she just nodded her head, letting what Casper want go.

"Oh, ayan na. Happy na? Happy na?" Heidee asked, and stood up. Casper did the same, and as soon as he was already tanding, I handed him the paper bag, containing the shirt that partnered with mine.

Kunot-noo naman niya iyong tinanggap but he smiled as soon as he realized thatit was a gift, when it is not. "Uy, regalo!"

"Stupid, hindi." I spoke. "Wear something new, instead of that shitty shirt of my brother." Dugtong ko pa. what he was wearing was the old shirts of my brother that was left on my room. Marami-rami iyon but thinking of Casper wearing the old clothes of someone during Christmas doesn't sit right with me.

"Wear it, bilisan mo." Sabi ko.

Casper immediately opened the paper bag, and his eyes widened as soon as realized what it was. He unfolded the shirt, and his forehead knotted when he realized that it was a twinning shirt with mine.

"Hala!" he exclaimed. "Sandali! Magbibihis lang ako! Couple shirt pala 'to!" Casper ran inside the unit, and I can hear Heidee's fake cough, as if she was trying to laugh behind me.

I looked back at her, and I saw her pouring a soju on the wine glasses that we prepared. She's smiling wickedly. "Couple...huh..."

"Shut up." I tried to calm my nerves because of what Casper said. I grabbed the opened soju, and drank directly from it. I breathe heavily.
