Chapter Eighteen: Lash out

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

LASH OUT 

Casper and I didn't talk for the whole damn day. I left the house early than the usual. I haven't slept a wink yet even though I cried. My head is throbbing. Casper didn't disturb me, and when I prepare for my class, he woke up but didn't bother to pester me. I just grab some food for him in the kitchen before I left.

"Dark mode," I heard Patricia whispered to LJ who laughed upon hearing it.

"May nangyari ba?" I heard Pia as well.

I yawned. Our professor is already half an hour late, and our classmates is leaving one by one but my friends slowly formed a circle just to gossip with each other. Nakakahiya naman at ako pa ang napiling topic. They probably noticed my unusual frown and silence so they didn't bother me.

"Huy," Lindrey poked my arm. I looked up at her. "Ikot mo upuan mo. Mukha kang outsider."

I glared at her but she just grinned at me, and forcefully moving my chair. With no choice left, I turned my chair to the circle. I was surprised when Lindrey made my head lean on her shoulder.

"Tulog ka. Mukha kang zombie."

And maybe that was my cue to get some sleep. I dozed off immediately and I slept for morethan an hour before I woke up. My head was throbbing, and my eyes stings because of lack of sleep. I saw my friends playing uno silently.

"Tulog ka pa." LJ tapped my shoulder.

"Uy may prof! Tago niyo mga uno! Lagot!" I'm almost falling asleep when I heard our block mate, Mark shouting at our direction. I'm still in daze but my friends were in a hurry, hiding the cards of uno to Yanna's bag before sitting like nothing happen.

I fell asleep again.

"Most of you failed the exam, I'll give a makeup exam tomorrow but it's time pressured." That's the last words of our professor before she dismissed us. I heaved a breath before looking at my friends, grinning happily upon hearing it.

"Pahingi reviewer!"

Yanna tossed her reviewer. It was from her boyfriend. They didn't fail the exam so they have the rights to chill out. "Oh! Pakasaya kayo!"

I immediately grabbed the paper before anyone else could. I scanned the reviewer while walking backwards. Lailaine and LJ started to chase me to get the reviewer but I ran. Yanna's reviewer was almost the same with mine that I did yesterday.

"Saglet, ipapa-photo copy ko!" I shouted while running along the hallway. To my luck, there were no professors around so we are like children playing around.

"Nemesis!!!!"

I ran through the stairs. Lailane and LJ keep on chasing me and I was laughing. I now have the guts to laugh. Despite of failing an exam, I know I still have the chance to redeem my failure, and that's morethan enough for me. I still have the purpose.

We reached the bookstore, heaving a breath because of the long run, but we are laughing and LJ hit me. We gave the reviewer and asked for copies. We waited on the waiting area before I we were called.

"60 pesos lahat."

"Po?" Lailane asked.

"May dala kang pera?" LJ asked me.
