CHAPTER THIRTY TWO:

LOST HOME

After I was done crying, I didn't let Casper's hand slip away on my hand. For this time, I'll let myself be vulnerable as what I really feel. For a short period of time, I trusted Casper this much, that I let him see me in this state. I always bear on my mind that I should keep people away from me. I should push them away because they just mean harm to me. They will just leave, and left me hanging...

But the fact that I always seek for someone that would stay by my side won't be erased by putting up my walls high just to push people away. I always ended up trusting them. I always ended up sticking with them even with the knowledge that they are just temporary and same thing will happen to me.

"How do you feel?" I asked Casper. We're even like a couple, holding each other's hand. I feel awkard but I couldn't care less. What's important to me is I got to have a hold in him so he won't vanish.

"Shouldn't I be the one to ask you that? Nakaka-dehydrate ang pag-iyak." He played with my facial mask.

Right.

After crying a dam of tears, this bullshit facial mask is still on my face. Pinalitan ni Casper ng bago dahil mamamaga raw ang mata ko bukas kung hahayaan ko lang ang mukha ko after ko umiyak. He told me I should have a beauty rest so I will look radiant tomorrow despite of crying.

"Stupid." I shook my head and just looked at the ceiling. "Answer me, Casper."

He's sitting on the floor, beside my bed. His other hand was busy with his phone. He's waiting for me to fall asleep. He wanted me to fall asleep with assurance so he didn't let go of our intertwined hands as well.

"A bit weak, but I can manage. I think... natututunan ko na." naramdaman ko ang pagngisi niya. "Talino ko no? Gwapo na talino pa?"

"Good night." I answered him. He's starting to brag about his shits again, yet come to think of it. I already admitted that Casper is good looking, but I don't know yet if he's intelligent. Not that it matters, but I'm curious. I know for a factthat he has a good memory, back when he reviewed with me, so I guess he is.

That's a common thing though. When you have a good memory, you are intelligent. The advantage of remembering the lesson, and all you have to do is to understand them, which you will remember easily.

"Luh, awit sa'yo bhie." Casper snorted. "Ano di'ba? Talino ko?" he asked and poked my arm.

"Malay ko ba?" I asked back and fixed my comforter using my one hand.

"Totoo nga! Grumaduate ako Laude 'nong college!" nagmamalaki pa ang boses niya.

"I'm running for suma too..." I whispered.

"Uy, pinagtagpo talaga tayo!" aniya.

"Edi wow." I answered at him. "What's your course...back in college if you don't mind?"

"Bio." He answered so fast.

Mabilis akong napalingon sa kaniya. He hasn't told me that yet. "Bio what?"

"BS Biology," he winked at me. "Imagine the dissection of cats, and frogs... ehehe..."

I just stared at him, not knowing what to say. For so long that I have been with him, minsan lang ako nangtanong sa kaniya ng mga kung ano-ano, and randomly, his answers surprise me.

"Really..."

Ginulo niya ang buhok ko. "Matulog ka na..."

I swallowed a lump on my throat. "Casper...can I...uh—"
