Chapter Forty: Real Pain

CHAPTER FORTY 

REAL PAIN 

A touch of soft mattress woke my senses. I was too dizzy even my eyes were closed. I wasn't sure if it was because I was drunk or I was just too tired that I felt too comfortable. My arms automatically wrapped around someone's neck. It smelled good that I wanted to smell it more so I can fall asleep again.

"Ayan, kaluluwa ka na't lahat-lahat, di ka pa marunong magtigil sa paglandi. Ayan ka ngayon. Karma."

"Manahimik ka nga, Heidee..."

I heard a familiar laugh, an irritating laugh but I don't care.

"U-uy, Nemesis..." I heard another familiar voice but I just hummed.

A set of hands was making me lose my grip on someone's neck. It irritated me. Even I was too dizzy, I tried to opened my eyes. It was awfully swollen. Mas lalo akong nahirapang buksan ang mga mata ko dahil doon.

"W-where am I?" I asked, trying to grasp what was happening, and not letting go of someone's neck I was hugging. I can't even focus my gaze but I felt the familiarity around.

"In your unit." Sagot ng baritong boses. It was so close to me, and I can feel the coldness around that doesn't come from aircon. I tried my hardest to focus my gaze, and the first thing I saw was kinky brown eyes.

I don't know what's up to me, but I found myself starting to cry again when I recognized him. My hands around his nape travelled to touch his face, and cup it. I blinked so my vison wouldn't get blurry once again. His kinky eyes widened because of what I did, and I heard a gasp from a distance.

"Casper..." bulong ko at humikbi. Casper was looking at me with his shocked expression. His mouth gaped open but didn't cut our eye contact. "Caspeeeer..." halos mapahagulgol ako sa hindi ko malamang dahilan. I can feel my heart being twisted in pain little by little, and a memory... my thoughts started to sink in once again.

"G-gagawa ako...gagawa ako ng paraan..." I whispered, still looking in his eyes. "I will do everything so you would stay... hindi na... ayoko..." I couldn't compose right phrases. Masyado na akong nahihilo.

"N-nemesis... m-magpahinga k-ka na..." he said. My head danced with unknown rhythm.

I nodded my head. "I will...I will rest..." I smiled and pulled his face closer to mine. "Do you understand? I will rest... I will be kind to you... I...I will be open to you... hindi na ako mag...lalas...las...I-I won't hurt myself...anymore...but you have to stay... okay?"

Napakurap siya.

I grinned. "And, I will not kill myself anymore... so we could be together... hindi na ako magpapakamatay, para sa'yo..." That's all I said before my head felt heavy. I closed my eyes and rested my head on the nearest thing I can lean on... then I felt a cold yet warm hand caressing my head, sending me to a peaceful sleep.

I woke up with a throbbing head. I clutched my head as soon as I sat up from bed, but my vision was blurry. Napasandal ako sa headboard bago tumingin sa side table. My bag that I used to visit Yanna was there, and with my disoriented state, I reached for my bag to get my phone.

But as I was getting my phone inside my bag, I stilled because of a question in my head.

Paano ako nakauwi?

My eyes widened and looked around. I got at ease when I realized I was here inside my unit, inside my room but I can't remember how did I get here. With no answers, I checked on my phone only to be surprised with messages from Bea.
