CHAPTER FIVE
DIED
HE VANISHED.
After he say his name, he vanished in the thin air, and I was left alone. Well, technically, I'm all alone there, but I'm with him...with Casper but he was gone after our talk. Kung paano siya lumitaw, gan'on 'din siya nawala. I was left with so many questions and thinking if that was just a dream or something.
"Nemesis, kakain ka na?" I blinked when I heard Pia at my back. She's fixing her things. Napatingin tuloy ako sa harap. Wala na ang professor namin. I sighed as I turned my seat to face Pia, Lailane and Patricia did the same thing.
"Mamayang vacant nalang. Makiki-kain nalang muna 'ko." I answered. I looked around and most of our block mates were already fixing their things and ready to go outside, and then I saw Lindrey walking towards us with Bea holding their snacks. They joined us and take their own seats.
I smiled. "Pahingi."
"Oh." Kaagad na inabot ni Bea ang Chips niya saakin and I was more than happy to grab the food. I'm not that hungry since I don't usually eat breakfast. My meal is always lunch and dinner, and if I'm in the mood, I'll eat some brunch and ask for my block mates for some snacks. They're willing to give as long as I'll return the favor.
"McDo tayo mamaya?" I looked at them, specially at Lailane. She's my food buddy since Pia started her fitness since last week.
"Pass." It was Bea. I'm not surprised. It has always been her answer. Scare of unnecessary expense.
"Nag-iipon ako." It was Lailane eating her biscuit. It was only Pia who ate early lunch since she doesn't usually eat breakfast. She's not used to it, unlike me. My body adapted my eating and sleeping hours.
"Mga kuripot." I rolled my eyes. I returned Bea's food already so I asked for Patricia's sandwich.
"Ay, anyway, nahanap mo si Ateng bracelet?" Lalaine suddenly asked.
"Ateng bracelet?" asked by LJ na kararating lang, holding her water bottle.
"May napulot siyang bracelet 'nung nasa hospital tayo, hindi siya sumabay sa'min pauwi for that, so I'm asking if she found the owner."
I bit my lower lip. I know I'm going the lie, but how can I say that I just saw a ghost? "Hindi e. Nakauwi na siguro."
"Sabi sa'yo e." Lailane rolled her eyes.
I didn't bother to answer her. She doesn't even know what I've been that day. I didn't even try to find the woman who owns the bracelet. She...they didn't even know that I had too much that day to mind for the owner of the bracelet. They always see me as happy go lucky, energetic and positive. Way beyond what's inside of me.
They know nothing.
"Perhaps...why do we see ghosts?" I asked, diverting the topic. Pia actually stopped eating while LJ laughed and the others knotted their forehead as they looked at me as if I'm a weirdo.
"You really have weird questions." Naiiling na sabi ni Pia. I chuckled as I rested my back on my chair. It's not new that I have random weird questions, but it's been a while since I did it due to busy schedule. Our midterm is coming and I have to recall everything and the influence of fiction books where my weird questions came from might affect me even though they help me to escape this harsh reality.
I pouted. "Not really...but why?" I asked.
Back then, I asked random questions such as why do vampire drink bloods, does werewolves really exist, or do Greek Gods exist... and how did they become a deity of some sort, but I don't mean it...yet right now, I'm curious.
