CHAPTER ELEVEN

COMFORT

My forehead turned into a knot as I stared at Casper. I couldn't even find the right words to say after I heard him. He stood up, and walked towards me, still wearing his welcoming smile on his face...as if he's not bothered by my presence at all.

"Kailan ka pa nandito?" I managed to ask him as he comes closer. His eyes were fixed on the food I was holding.

"Kanina pa. Mamamasyal sana ako kaso parang nanghihina ako so I went here to rest. 'Wag kang mag-alala. Naligo ako." He assured me. Oh right, he requested me to leave spare clothes on the sofa so he wouldn't wait for me to offer it to him since that's the way of him getting things and food. As long as it was offered to him, then he can control it on his own.

"Good..." I said. "I brought some foods..."

He grinned. Inabot niya ang kamay ko at kinuha ang plastic ng binili kong pagkain. "What's this, sugar mommy?"

"Gago." I muttered.

He chuckled. Holding the food, he went to the coffee table near my sofa and placed it there. He looked at me. "Bihis ka muna."

I nodded. "Ge."

He laughed. "Ge, talon." He teased me.

I stopped upon hearing it. I glared at him and showed him my middle finger. "Gusto mong kumain di'ba?" I asked.

He stilled realizing what he did. "Actually, gutom na ako."

"Then you should know how to shut up." I squinted my eyes before walking inside my closet. I took some clothes and went inside the bathroom to take a shower, after that, I walked towards the coffee table and sat on the floor. Casper was like a kid, waiting for a food to be served to him.

"Ba't 'di ka pa kumain?" I asked after I noticed that he didn't move the food. He just placed it there.

"I'm waiting for you." He said. I paused from opening the food. "Malungkot kumain mag-isa."

"Right." I nodded my head. "But you have to get used to it..." it was almost a whisper careful that my words would mean he other way to him. He's already a ghost and it's not like I will always be with him.

He pinched my cheeks. "I'm not alone, babe."

I looked at him, confused but didn't utter any word.

"I have you." He smiled.

I raised an eyebrow. "Okay." I said. Of course, I am here, his food provider, his ghost buddy and all that, but what if I can't be with him always? It's an awful feeling to be alone, and be left behind.

"And you have me." He chuckled.

"Casper," I called as I looked up at him.

"Hmm?" He asked.

"You can't always have me." I said, straight forwardly.

"I know..."

I just ignored him, finishing to open the food for us. He looked down on it when I finally opened the box of food. He surely smelled the delicious food.

"Ano 'yan?" tanong niya.

"Pater." I said, pushing the box to him to taste. It was the food I grew up with when I was in high school, with my classmates.

"Di ko pa naririnig 'yan." He said.

I heave a sigh. "It's a Muslim food, you idiot." I rolled my eyes.
