CHAPTER FORTY FOUR:
ME
I'm a fan of fantasy novels. I also binge watch fantasy than the realistic ones but I didn't reach the point of wanting to see one of them. The short spur of the moment made me to want them but not to see them in real. Despite of being a fan, I believe in Christian God, than this.
This is beyond my imagination. I'm questioning myself now if I was still right in the head, or I'm just dreaming. When Heidee said that we'd be meeting Hades to help us, it didn't sink in completely in my consciousness that we'll be meeting a real God. A Greek God that I'm fond of during high school days.
"Are you going back home?" He looked at Heidee, smirking.
"I'm not here for that, Hades." Heidee answered. "I'm here for work."
Hades glanced at us but it settled on Casper. Napakunot ang noo niya. He looked at Heidee once again, glaring.
"Do you know what you're doing, Hermia?"
I heard that name once again. Hermia. He's not calling Heidee by her name. We're behind them but even so, I can feel something strange. A shiver, and an indifferent quiver inside of me. I held Casper's arm to support myself. Napatingin siya sa akin dahil 'don.
"You, okay?"
I nodded my head. Para akong nanghihina.
"Just get this over, Hades."
"You're going against the rules once again." Hades blinked. His eyes lit up with a glittery sparkle of ocean blue pigment. Nakakahilong tignan ang tingin niya.
"You're going against the rule too." Heidee answered.
"Human should not know our existence, Hermia. You know that. I don't understand what they're talking about. It's just one thing's for sure. Heidee is related to Hades. They're beyond normal people. They're above us.
"Don't meddle with—"
"Then don't meddle with mine in the first place. I am here for work." Heidee's voice was firm. Her voice had always been firm but not like this. It sounded scary...and powerful.
Hades looked at Casper. "Hand him over. You know where."
"No, I'm not here for that. I want you to do the altruism interchange."
Mas lalong sumama ang tingin ni Hades kay Heidee. "You're breaking the law of the underworld." With that, Hades turned on us. "Go home, and accept the fate that you chose, Kid."
He was about to step inside—but it happened in a blink of an eye. A flash of movements and all I hear was the deafening sound of clashing metal, and Heidee was on the ground already, holding a spear pointing at Hades' neck on top of her, and Hades was holding a sheath pointing at Heidee's forehead.
"Heidee! Sandali lang po!" Casper let go of me, and tried to break off the two but Hades' palm pointed at our direction. In an instant, Casper was kneeling on the ground.
"Casper!" I don't know who to attend first, but I ended up helping Casper to stand up again.
"I told you not to mess up, Hermia." Hades gritted his teeth.
I swallowed a lump on my throat. I can feel my heavy breathing as minutes passes by but I tried to keep it still. Maybe I was just surprised and nervous on new strange things that I'm seeing. Honestly saying, maybe I'm the only human here.
