44. Check up

Jaeni's POV

"Are you okay love? You don't feel nauseous or dizzy right now?" Namjoon asked as he drove. We were on our way to the hospital to have a check up for our developing baby.

I had an OB doctor already in Ansan but of course we couldn't go all the way there for a check up, good thing Jisoo Unnie knew some OB doctors, the one we were gonna see was actually Seulgi, Irene's friend that I met at her bachelorette party.

Soobin had school today so it was only me and Namjoon, speaking of Namjoon, he has been more wary of my well-being ever since he found out I was pregnant, he didn't want me work for three days to make sure I was holding up well, it was actually the second day of me not working today. I just obeyed him since I understood that he doesn't know what is good or bad for me while being pregnant.

But today, we were gonna find out how many weeks pregnant I am and see how our baby was doing. "I'm okay Joonie, don't worry." I said, he nods and continued to drive. We arrived at the hospital, Namjoon helping me out of the car and guiding me to the reception desk. "How can I help you today?" The receptionist ask. "We're here to see Doctor Kang Seulgi, appointment name is Choi Jaeni." I said. "Oh yes, just walk to your right to the elevator, go to the second floor and then the third door to your left is her office." The receptionist explained.

"Thank you.." I said, me and Namjoon followed the directions, getting on the elevator, walking into the second floor and made it to the said office. We entered and saw Seulgi sitting at her desk. "Jaeni, Namjoon.." She greeted us with a smile, motioning us to take a seat. "Hello Seulgi, it has been awhile, last time we saw you was at..Irene and Jackson's wedding?" Namjoon said.

"Yes, it has been some time, I got the call from Jisoo, so you're pregnant Jaeni? Congratulations!" She said cheerfully and I smiled. "Thank you, we wanted to make sure if our baby is okay, good thing Jisoo said you were an OB doctor." I said. "Indeed she did, now before I do an ultrasound to check on your baby, have you been experiencing anything negative with your pregnancy?" Seulgi asked. "Not really, just the typical morning sickness, headaches and tiredness, it's mostly Namjoon who is worried." I said chuckling slightly.

"She's not wrong, I'm worried if the baby is developing well, if she's been eating the right food for the baby and all these things." Namjoon said and Seulgi chuckled. "I can see that you are worried Namjoon, well I'll have a nurse come in to get you changed in a patient's gown, meanwhile I'll get the medical records that I've requested from your previous OB doctor in Ansan. Wait for the nurse." She said and we nodded. She got up from her desk and walked out of the office.

A nurse walks in moments later with a patient's gown for me to put on, I quickly changed as the nurse left, Namjoon even helping me, he then helps me lay down on a hospital bed that was in the room. "Thank you Joonie." I said and he smiled, grabbing my hand into his as we waited for Seulgi to come back. After a few minutes she walked back in with a file in her hands.

"Okay so I've read your previous records Jaeni with your first son Soobin, seems like it was a normal pregnancy and Soobin was born healthy and naturally." She said as she skimmed through the records. "Well let's see your second baby shall we?" She said and placed the file on her desk. She prepped the necessary equipment, even called in a nurse to help. "Okay Jaeni, lay down on your back." She said, I laid on my back, Namjoon standing by my side watching everything. Seulgi pours some cold gel on my stomach and moved the the machine around on my stomach.

Namjoon stared at the screen connected to the machine, waiting. "Oh and there is your baby.." Seulgi said smiling while pointing at the little bean that was on the screen. Namjoon looked at it, very serious. Seulgi pressed a few buttons on the machine and then we heard the loud thumps that were the baby's heartbeat. "Your baby has a strong heartbeat which is good, as for how long you are Jaeni, you are about two months in and by the look and size of the fetus, everything is as it should be." She said. I looked over at Namjoon who had a small smile while staring at the screen that showed our baby.

"I'll leave this on for you while I grab a hardcopy of your baby's sonogram." She said as she took the machine off my stomach. "I'll be right back." She said and walked out with a nurse. "I can't believe that's our baby." Namjoon said while still staring at the screen. I smiled and grabbed his hand, placing it on top of my stomach, he looked at me and smiled.

After a few minutes, Namjoon helped me sit up, clean off the gel on my stomach and change back into my clothes. Seulgi came back and we sat back at her desk. "So here is the sonogram.." She said and handed me an envelop. "So I want to prescribe some prenatal vitamins for you to take Jaeni, this isn't your first pregnancy but you should always rest." Seulgi explained. "Got it, thank you Seulgi." I said and she smiled. "No need to thank me, here is the prenatal vitamins you need and come back in week so we can check the development of your baby." She said and handed Namjoon a prescription.

"Well I'll see you soon, but before you go, I'm assuming not everyone knows about your pregnancy yet?" "Yes, we will be telling each friend and family group soon though." Namjoon said. "Alright, of course as a doctor no one will know, not even our same friends."

"Thank you again Seulgi." Namjoon said. "Anytime, I'll see you soon." She said and we left her office, Namjoon and I left the building and got in the car, I let out a breath as I buckled my seatbelt. "You okay babe?" Namjoon asked, placing a hand on my stomach. "Yes, just had to take a breath there after walking for awhile." I said. "Okay, we'll head to a pharmacy first to buy your prenatal vitamins and then we'll head home so you can rest." He said and I nodded. "Okay, I love you Joonie, thank you for taking care of me and our baby." I said, he leans in and kissed the side of my head.

"I should be thanking you love, you're baring another bundle of joy for us." He said and I smiled.
