I woke up around 10am. The first thing I wanted to do was get my American dollars transferred to won. I think that I can do that at a bank or airport so I'll look around for places.
I slowly got out of bed, going straight for the shower. Then I brushed my teeth and decided on my outfit for the day. I decided on some sweats and an oversized tshirt. I was into a lot of different styles, street fashion really being my go to. So I paired that with some converses, stuffed my important stuff into a backpack, and left the room.

How long did I spend in there? A whole hour?? God, it was a nightmare tryna to get the money transferred but I now have about $3,000 transferred to won. I can transfer the rest if I need to but I'll just keep it for now.
I won't lie, being stared at by every single person that pasts you is not... the best feeling in the world. But I knew already that that would happen. I've done my research.
I was planning on going to get some breakfast on my own but being under the eyes of so many people really tanked my confidence. I just decided to return to the hotel and get room service instead.
The walk back was a lot longer than the walk there, I suppose I was a little more energized when I had a definite goal. I just decided to put in my headphones and pretend that I couldn't see the other people. I just had to fake confidence until I felt confident. So I walked with my head up the entire way back.
Once arriving, I fell onto the bed, exhausted from having to put on an act for a good 20 minute walk. As I reached for the hotel phone, I got a text on my own phone.
NJ: hey, it's Namjoon again
NJ: I have some time from now until noon but I won't be free again until 8 tonight
NJ: do you still want to get something to eat?
lol I just ordered room service
I felt bad for lying, but going out just to see a billion eyes on me damn near gave me a panic attack. But, I still wanted to see Namjoon.
NJ: that's okay, we can try another time
do you maybe
idk
wanna keep me company?
NJ: I'll be there shortly
I bit my lip to hold back from smiling at my phone. I've never smiled from anyone texting me, but why does seeing him text that give me butterflies? I tried to shake away the feeling and continued to call room service. Ordering bulgogi and a steak dish in case he was hungry as well.

I was was studying my Korean language book when there was suddenly a knock at the door. I walked to it, looking through the peephole to see Namjoon standing there with his hands in his pockets. I took a step back to calm my breathing and ground myself before opening the door.
"H-hi." I smiled up at him.
"Hey." He smiled in returned. I moved to the side to let him walk in and closed the door behind him. "Did something happen when you were... ya know, outside?" He went to sit in a chair as I walked back into the room with furrowed eyebrows and a confused look. How did he know that I went out? "Taehyung said that he saw you walk past. He said that you looked really upset and uncomfortable." Worry coated his face after he took off his hat to put on the table in front of him and push his hair back. I sighed and went to sit in the chair across from him. "So something did happen..." He leaned on his hand.
"It's just that, I knew that people would notice me. I just didn't think that it would be as serious as it was. People were pointing, pulling their phones out to record me, crossing the street to avoid me." I looked away, I didn't want to talk about this, but it had to be discussed regardless. He let out a breath and looked away as well.
"I'm sorry that you had to experience that. I hate that Korea is so unkind to foreigners. No one should ever be treated that way, especially not you." His voice was deeper, softer. Much more genuine and less playful. "Unlike America, Korea is only full of Koreans. So seeing someone so different would be a huge deal to people. The only way that we see westerners like yourself, is through media. And some people chose to watch really bad stuff and they make a stereotype for you guys. It really makes me angry." His accent started to come out as he got more and more heated. I chuckled and looked over at him. He slowly met my eyes, his face softening.
"Thank you, Namjoon. I feel better now."
"Y-you're welcome." He smiled back. "Most people don't have bad intentions when they stare, though. They're just surprised." He nodded.
"Have you been to America before?" He quickly nodded, a smile growing on his face.
"I've only been to California and New York, though. The sun is so much brighter over there."
"So you're familiar with seeing black people?" I raised my eyebrows. He excitedly nodded, ready to tell me an intriguing story.
"When I was younger, my brothers and I went to LA to learn more about hip hop. We met so many different kinds of people. We look back at it now and cringe, but we're still glad it happened." I smiled subconsciously while listening to him talk, looking away when I realized. We were interrupted by a knock on the door. "I'll get it, you relax." His dimples deepened and he got up to put his hat back on. I sat there with my hands tucked between my legs. Namjoon spoke in Korean to the person and wheeled a tray of food into the room. "You must be saving one of these for dinner. They're both too filling to be eaten together." He sat back down. I placed the bulgogi and it's side dishes in front of me and the plate of steak in front of him. He tilted his head.
"We supposed to eat together, remember?" I smiled, reaching for the chopsticks.
"O-oh." He became really flustered after hearing that. "T-thank you." He quickly bowed.
