Jungkook laid over my lap as we watched a drama together. I found myself subconsciously playing with his hair in the mean time. I've always done this, playing with my sisters braids or fro if she sat in front of me for something. He then checked his phone and let out a breath, and got up to adjust his clothes. I stared at him in confusion.
"I have work at 3." I checked the time and it was already 2:35pm. God, where did the time go? I got up to walk with him to the door. "I brought this, for you." He reached into a bag that was beside the door and pulled out a black graphic shirt. "I wore it yesterday. You liked it." He held it out for me to take.
"It's too early in our friendship for me to steal your clothes." I laughed and crossed my arms. He snickered and put it down, mumbling something in Korean before running up the stairs. I watched him in confusion and was going to follow him but he came back down at the speed of light, and without the shirt. "What did you do with it?" I squinted.
"Can't talk, gotta go." He giggled and went to put his shoes on, looking over his shoulder with a smile before scurrying back to pull me into his arms. "You're my friend, I'll care all I like." He mumbled over my shoulder.
"Fine." I chuckled and hugged him back. After another 10 seconds, he finally stepped away and looked at me with his big bunny smile and excited eyes.
"See you later!" He waved with both hands, pulled his bag onto his shoulders, and hurried from the house. I couldn't help but fondly smile at the ground and nervously play with my hair as I walked back to the couch to finish the drama.
.Jungkook.
I pulled up to the spa that we always go to. I went through the back door since it was still a public space and went to the back room where only we were allowed. Namjoon and Hoseok were already there and taking off their socks and shoes.
"I'm not late, am I?" I sat on the third chair and joined them.
"No, the masseuse came early so we might as well start now." Hoseok chuckled from the middle chair and Namjoon had picked back up a book he was reading in the first chair. They placed foot baths in front of us as that was the first step of treatment. "I feel bad for Jimin. He needed to come after how hard he's been practicing. He spends every break and every night dancing and practicing his vocals. But he said that his neck has been killing him."
"He's a perfectionist. He can't help it." Namjoon mumbled. "Tae and Jin said that they might not come and that they're going to get lunch together and meet us for the outfit fittings."
"That's code for they're going to see Zaina." Hoseok chuckled, holding his arm. A small smile fell on his face as he tried to concentrate on his book. "Jungkook did you get a chance to see her?"
"I just left to come here, yeah." I nodded, sitting back in my chair and turning on the gentle massage function. "She really doesn't want us to be concerned about her, even after all that she's been through."
"How could we not? Friends care about each other's wellbeing." Hoseok leaned on his hand and looked over at me.
"That's what I told her. She seemed to give in after that." I giggled.
"I went to go see her this morning. It made me sad that she didn't remember me until I mentioned the cafe. But that's probably because Namjoon has been hogging her up her entire visit."
"You all know the key code, I'm not restricting you." He glanced back. Hoseok playfully glared at him, before leaning towards me with a hand over his mouth.
"She told me that he's her favorite." He whispered. I gasped in shock. "That's what I'm saying, this guy? Out of all of us?" He mumbled.
"I can hear you." Namjoon kept his smile.
"I'll fight for that favorite spot. I can't believe this. Is it because he's tall as hell because I'll pull out my fucking high heels if that's what I gotta do." Hoseok bursted out laughing at my words, making me laugh along while I was trying to be serious.
"I think it's because they can talk the best. Because he knows English." Hoseok explained.
"I know English!" I snapped. "Kinda..."
"I suck at it. I could only talk to her a little, it was mostly her talking to me and me just nodding not understanding a damn thing." He giggled. I tsked and shook my head.
"Do better hyung. I raised you better than this."
"Yah, Namjoon." He turned the other way. "I asked her that question that you were wondering." He smiled sheepishly. Namjoon seemed to be confused but listened on. "I don't think she's dating right now. She didn't answer the question because she was so interested on who wanted to know. But I can tell that she's single."
"Wait... I asked you that..." I mumbled. Hoseok looked back and forth between me and him as he had finally looked up from his book.
"Don't tell me you both want to date her." He laughed, covering his mouth.
"I-I didn't say that. We shouldn't jump so far ahead when we've only known her for so little. She's just really fun and cool and pretty and nice a-" I tried to defend myself.
"If I didn't know any better, I'd mistake you for a tomato with how red you are." Hoseok giggled. Namjoon stayed quiet.
"M-my point is that, you would like her too if you got to know her." I pulled my hoodie over my head. "Even Jin would fall for her."
"That's a huge claim, Jungkook. You know how many times he's kissed his reflection compared to how many people he's kissed? About 73 : 1 and that one person was Namjoon in that run bts episode." He laughed again.
"Yah, we agreed to never speak of that after it aired." Namjoon finally spoke, not being able to hold back an embarrassed smile.
"Hyung, do you like Zaina?" I looked around Hoseok to find his eyes.
"The relationship that I have with her is between us alone. If we decide to date, I'll be sure to let you know since you're so interested." I was taken aback by his blunt response.
"I knew y'all was fucking."
