He showed me one more room until we walked into warm feeling room, little cacti and bonsai plants scattered all over the place. It just felt so comforting, not only that, but it smelled just like Namjoon.
"This one." I smiled up at him.
"T-This one? ...Okay." His eyes were wide at first and then he just smiled fondly and nodded. I tilted my head, confused at his reaction.
"Should I not pick this one?" I awkwardly put my hands in my pockets.
"No..! It's okay, I promise." He pulled my hands out to hold them. "But I'll tell you before I go to a different bedroom. This is my personal bedroom, the rest are guest rooms." He looked down, deepening his dimples.
"Ohhh. Y-you can have it if you-" He shook his head.
"If this is the room that makes you most comfortable, then I want you to be here. This is all my house, so I don't mind sleeping in another room."
"Do the other rooms belong to the others? Since you're brothers?"
"No. We're not like brothers brothers. We've just known each other for almost 10 years. And in Korean culture, we use honorifics for people that are older or of higher status than us. Like how Jimin calls me hyung because I'm older than him. And I call Jin hyung, because he's older than me. Hyung means older brother when a guy is talking about a guy, so when translating, we say we're just brothers to avoid confusion. Do you remember when Jungkook called you noona?" I couldn't help but watch fondly as he started rambling again. It was cute... very cute.
"Not really." I chuckled and smiled shyly.
"Well, it was right after we showed up so that's probably why. But noona means older sister if coming from a guy. Jungkook is 22 in Korean age so you're his noona. Although it's usually used towards other Koreans, but it's also used between close friends when they speak Korean together. So if you were to speak to us in honorifics, you would call us oppa, which is older brother from a girl. Although we won't force you to because that can be pretty cringe most of the time. But you are about the same age as Jimin and Taehyung, even though you're technically older. Based on months, but honorifics are determined by years so it wouldn't be improper to not use honorifics for each other because you're equals, although it's still expected for you to. How long have I been talking, my mouth is dry." He laughed and walked over to a mini fridge in the corner to grab a water.
"Thank you for the lesson, Namjoon. I was really wondering what hyung meant. So thanks for letting me know."
"Of course, If you have any questions about learning our language, please ask. Did you want to shower?"
"I would like to, yes. But I don't have any clothes." I shyly nodded.
"You can wear my clothes. They might be a little big on you but, I think it'll be okay." He smiled.
"But... what about..." I tried to avoid saying it since talking about underwear with anyone will always be awkward to me. He caught on to what I was saying when he laughed with a hand over his mouth and looked away.
"Well... Since we were going to bring you here later this morning, Jin and I wanted to make sure that you would be comfortable living here." He then looked away nervously. "Including buying you underwear. We guessed your size, please don't be weirded out." He cringed at himself.
"That's so nice of you guys to do. Thank you." I smiled, drawing his eyes back to me. He nodded and lead me to closet.
"They're in this bag over there. There's an on-suite bathroom through that door. But if you don't like the soap or towels or you're uncomfortable at all with anything. I'll be in that room, and I can help you with anything." He smiled, pointing with his words.
"Thank you. But please sleep. I'm sure you work tomorrow and it's already really late, I won't bother you any further tonight." I held my hands together, looking at the ground.
"Zaina." His hand softly grabbed my shoulder. "You don't bother me or any of the guys. You never did and you never will. In fact, we're all really going to miss you after you go home, and we just hope that you'll come back soon." I looked at him slowly, just meeting his soft eyes.
"I-I'll miss you guys too. It feels foolish to say, but I've never been the type to hide my feelings. But... I almost wanna stay a little longer..." I shyly looked down.
"A-A little longer?" His eyes were wide when I glanced up at him.
"Maybe like... another week. Not too long." I held my other arm to keep myself from getting too nervous.
"Would your family be okay with that? After what happened?"
"I haven't told them and I don't plan to. B-"
"Zaina... they should know." His voice was softer as he leaned down to show that it was a little more serious about this.
"I don't want them to worry. I'm safe now so they shouldn't have a weight on their shoulders. It won't happen again, I know that." I sighed. "I came here to enjoy South Korea's culture, and it feels like my trip is just starting." I smiled.
"You're welcome to stay here as long as you want. No one even steps foot on the grass without my permission. You're as safe as safe gets, in any of our houses. But as of right now, you can completely relax. I may not be here when you wake up, so if you're alone, feel free to do what you want in the house, there'll be food waiting for you in the kitchen. And I'll be sure to check in with you through text or call when you're awake." He explained to me with a big comforting smile. "So if you want or need anything at all. If it's clothes, if it's food, if the blankets on these beds aren't warm enough, or are too warm. Please tell me."
"Namjoon, stop it." I chuckled and playfully pushed his shoulder. "Really, I'm not that sensitive. I'd rather you relax and enjoy your life without worrying about me in the back of your head. Like you said, I'm safe. Thank you for all that you're doing and have done, I can't thank you enough, actually." I was actually getting shy when saying this. "But, I just don't wanna stress you out. I know that you're gonna say that you're not stressed from me. But the fact that you're always worried about my well-being is stressing me out." I laughed and he let out a soft chuckle.
"Okay. You're right, I do have work tomorrow and I should sleep. But I'll only worry less if you continue to contact me if you're having any problems. Please." He reached for my hands, holding them gently. I looked down so watch his thumbs trace the back of my hands, looking so much smaller in his.
"Of course I will, Namjoon. If anything happens, you'll be the first I call." I nodded and smiled.
"Thank you." He slowly stepped forward and I happily wrapped my arms around his waist. He held my shoulders softly. "I hope you don't think I'm weird for saying this, but I don't wanna see you hurting anymore. Please lean on me." He whispered.
