I just got off of work and it was around 12:30pm. But before going home, I put on my disguise, a mask and glasses, pulled my hoodie over my head. I wanted to take a tinyyy shopping trip. Nothing serious, just to get a few things.
I didn't want her to feel pressured into going on a date, but I also don't want her to feel like she's being friend zoned. So I just wanted to get something nice for her. Especially because she was about to leave.
Which left me in the car with Jimin, since he was the only one who answered in the group chat when I asked if anyone could give me a ride. And when he found out it was for Zaina, he was more than happy to join.
"So... it's a date?" Jimin chuckled.
"Not a date." I quickly denied.
"You're in my car because you want to buy her something... before your date." He laughed.
"It's not a date, damnit." I crossed my arms and looked out the window.
"What is it then, hyung? You two are going to Jin hyung's restaurant for dinner. Not only that, but you want to get her a gift beforehand."
"Anyway, I still don't know what I should get her." I rubbed my forehead.
"When I think of Zaina, I think of jewelry." Jimin suggested.
"Jewelry? First thing that came to mind was flowers but even that felt too forward. Wouldn't jewelry make it seem like I'm flirting with her though?" I tilted my head.
"We all have matching friendship bracelets with Halsey, and no matter how much he try, she has yet to fuck one of us."
"Y'all are so damn disrespectful. She's fuckin taken."
"Didn't stop Nicki." He mumbled.
"Stop the car, I'm getting out." I undid my seatbelt. Jimin was quick to laugh and reach over my body at a stoplight to grab my seatbelt.
"H-hyung stop, I'm kidding!" He cackled.
"No you're not, who was it?" I sighed and put my seatbelt back on.
"I tried... didn't get to smash though. I put on all my charms, even did my tongue thing, you know the thing."
"I unfortunately know the thing." I rolled my eyes.
"She was flattered, she seemed like she was flirting back. She was smirking at me."
"Are you talking about the video call where we met her before filming Idol? Is that why you were all the way in the back??" I looked at him with wide eyes.
"No, you hoes didn't leave a spot for me on the couch and I was bored and horny and I dm'd her with our group account and sent her my private account. But Jin saw the notification and made me delete it so I really missed out on the fattest ass I ever did see." He was ranting in complete disbelief. "Well until Za-"
He stopped when I gave him a look. Clearing his throat as he switched hands on the wheel.
"Well... since we're going to the mall anyway, you should get Zaina a spare set of clothes for the next time she visits." Jimin changed the subject.
"Why? She has her own luggage." I furrowed my brows.
"Hyung she didn't bring a swimsuit. So when she used the pool she was just in underwear and Jungkook's shirt. Jungkook was with me when we saw her. Hyung..." He ran his fingers through his hair, telling me all I need to know. There was a pang of jealousy in my chest as I rubbed my bottom lip in thought.
"When did she get Jungkook's shirt?"
"He gave it to her a couple days after she moved in. He noticed that the smell of his shirt comforted her after you brought her there so he gave it to her." He explained. "You shouldn't get jealous, hyung. It's extremely clear that she only has eyes for you." He chuckled making me immediately snap my gaze to him.
"What do you mean by that?" I was honestly curious because I've never seen any signs of her liking me. If anything, I thought she had a thing for Jungkook.
"Well firstly, you're her favorite." He put up a finger. "And before you try to deny it, not only does she show it but she literally said it."
"That doesn't count, she can have favorite friends." I shrugged.
"Friends." He chuckled in a sarcastic tone. "Friends don't get flustered when hearing your name. Friends don't become a ball of excitement when you, specifically, walk in the room. Friends don't text Jin to ask random small questions about you. If she was just a friend, she'd ask you herself. But she can't because you, as her friend, makes her shy." He rolled his eyes with a chuckle. "I wish I made her shy, I just make her laugh from my attempts to act cool you lucky asshole!" His voice grew in passion towards the end.
"Still." I laughed. My heart felt a little warmer after that.
"You're her favorite, she has a crush on you, and this a date. Get her something nice, hyung." He angrily forced a smile. I couldn't help but laugh in response. "We're here, get the hell out."

NJ: hello
NJ: it's Joonie
NJ: again
Hi Namjoon lol
On your lunch break?
NJ: no I'm off of work
Already?
Yooo let's do somethin
NJ: that's what I was texting you for
NJ: I rereserved the reservations for 5pm
NJ: I should be home by 4pm
Oooooh should I dress fancy? casual? Thot szn?
NJ: whatever you wear, I'll match the energy
Sounds like a plan Joonie Joo
NJ: don't feel rushed or anything
NJ: take your time ❤️
I put my phone down with butterflies flooding my stomach. Did he just invite me on a date?? Because if it's a date, then I should dress up. But if it's just dinner, then I should keep it casual.
I get out of bed and looked down at my suitcase. I don't really have too many options. I have a few clubbing dresses, and the rest are casual.
I mean, one of the dresses aren't as thotty as the others. It was a black mock turtleneck dress with short sleeves that stopped mid thigh and had a hole under the neckline that exposed the upper chest. She's less thotty, but depending on the shoes, she can be whatever she wants to be.
But at the same time, I gotta think about my circumstances. I'm going into a Korean restaurant, do I need to be looking that fire? Like if it's just a regular degular restaurant, then no. But if she's fancy fancy. If she's giving 'I shop luxury brands only' then that's another story.
But Namjoon did say that he'd match my energy, and imagining the male version of this outfit... I see a black turtleneck, tucked into black skinny jeans, with an overcoat, paired with black combat boots and black glasses. And a chain, for that special cultured touch. But this look would fit soooo fire with his blonde hair. If he wore literally anything similar to that, this crush is confirmed. That ring is guaranteed baby.
Well i didn't need to shower since I already did that when I washed my hair this morning. I was chilling with a deep conditioner in when Namjoon texted me. But I still had 10 minutes on my timer, so I used this time to look through the few shoes I brought. And when I saw that I only brought heels and sneakers, I had to think deeper about this.
The confidence it would take to wear such an outfit to a casual occasion... it would be normal in the states. My type of folks overdress for everything, to the point where you could go to Denny's, see a couple on a date, and both of them look red carpet ready.
But in Korea, the best it gets for date attire is matching colors or patterns. But if I'm gonna stand out, I might as well go all the way out. So I took the heels out to wear anyway.
