Ever since his performance at the club, Keenan's popularity has begun to rise. People recognize him on the streets and at the store. Locals mention his song on twitter and his followers on social media has steadily started to increase. Marcus's dj friend passed on his song to other DJs and other clubs have started to play it. Keenan is surprised at how well people are liking his music. It's definitely a club hit but he didn't think it would spread so quickly.

As he drives down the street to the closest grocery store to pick up some snacks, a familiar beat comes through the speakers. In completely disbelief, Keenan turns up the radio to make sure he isn't mistaking.

Sure enough, his voice starts rapping through the speakers as his song blasts in the car. "Yooooo," he exclaims to himself. "I'm on the radio!"

He bobs his head in time to the beat feeling over excited that he's actually hearing his song on the radio. If he wasn't at a red light with cars on both sides he probably would have shed a few tears. This is every artists biggest dream, happiest moment and an exciting peak in their life. To hear their first single, playing on the radio. It's an accomplish that used to be so far out of reach. Now it's actually happening.

"This is crazy!" Keenan says to himself. Listening to his own lyrics blaring from the car radio feels surreal to him. He's smiling so hard that his cheeks hurt but he can't help it. It's like bringing a baby into the world. All that time and effort resulted in something beautiful and worth wild. He's so glad Marcus gave his CD to that DJ or this wouldn't be happening right now.

His phone rings and he answers it before switching to speaker phone. "Hello?"

"You're song is on the radio!" Kiara shouts into the phone.

"I know, I'm listening to it now." He lowers the volume of the radio in order to hear better. "I can't believe this."

"Me either. I was at work doing my clients hair when I heard your voice on the radio. My co worker almost changed it but I threw a comb to stop her." Kiara says in a rush. She tends to talk fast when she's excited. "We're all in here jamming right now. Everyone loves your song."

"That's a relief, I'm glad everyone is enjoying it. Tell them I said hi." Keenan turns into the parking lot of the grocery store and searches for a spot.

"My brother said 'hey' y'all, that's his song on the radio." Kiara gloats. "I'm so proud of you Keenan."

"Thanks Kiki," He responds, snagging a spot before someone else grabs it. "Wait till I tell our parents."

"They're gonna go crazy." Kiara says. "Look I've gotta go finish perming this girls hair, I'll talk to you later."

"Alright, love you."

"Love you too, bye."

Keenan's song ends and he's almost sad that its over. The radio host comes onto the speakers now. "And that was Back Against the Wall by our very own local artist, Keenan Moore."

"Man that track came out the blue and was an instant banger." The female host says. "The song was first played at club Essence and the crowd instantly loved it, it quickly gained a lot of attention in the last few days."

"I can see why. For a rookie, that track was out the park!" The guy says, "Hopefully we can get Keenan for an interview soon."

Before Keenan can even react to those words, his phone rings again, this time it's Marcus.

"Please tell me you heard that." Marcus says before Keenan can even speak.

"If you're talking about hearing my song on the radio then yeah."

"Good, I thought you might not believe me if you didn't hear it for yourself." Marcus says. "More importantly, did you hear what Lil Man said? He wants you for an interview, that's big news bro!"

Keenan laughs because all of this feels like a dream. His song on the radio plus the hosts wanting an interview? This sounds too good to be true but he really hopes he's not dreaming. "Yeah I heard, so when should I call them for an interview?"

"Never."

"Huh?"

"If they want to get in touch with you bad enough, they'll come to you." Marcus tells him. "If you call them to schedule an interview, you'll look thirsty for attention. Lay low for now and the more your song blows up, the more the host will want you in the studio for an interview."

"Good strategy," Keenan says. "I owe you big time Marcus, I can't thank you enough."

"You're welcome but don't get too hype just yet. You're rising up and soon you'll hit the peak and drop off. To avoid that, we need another song in your back pocket so when this one dies down, you'll hit everyone with another one." Marcus informs. Keenan nods his head in understanding. He sees where Marcus is coming from. So many artist have had one hit wonders then disappeared from earth. He's too close to let that happen now.

"Alright, we'll start planning soon." Keenan says.

"Sounds good, but enjoy this moment for now and we'll discuss the next moves later." Marcus says. They share quick goodbyes before hanging up. Keenan's phone is vibrating like crazy with notifications from twitter and texts. Pulling down the notification tab, he sees tons of messages from people talking about his song on the radio. He smiles and locks his phone feeling accomplished. This song is going to take him to new heights.
