"It's day two of our California advent-cha. Here we see a wild Ty as he sweats his body weight out." Sevyn shoves the camera into Ty's face. "Lets watch."

"Will you shut up with your horrible Australian accent?" Ty laughs and smacks her hand out his face.

Today the crew decided to hit the city. Their aunt let them use uncle Renny's SUV as transportation and they all felt cool because they were riding in style. The 2013 Mercedes truck is big and roomy, it gains them attention everywhere they go which is just how they like it.

"Take a picture of me with this palm tree!"Sevyn shoves Jackson her camera before running over to the willowy palm tree planted into the sidewalk, and wrapping her arms and legs around it like a monkey. She cheeses at the camera and Jackson snaps a picture.

They're currently strolling through the Third Street Promenade, shopping and pointing in windows while a band puts on a street performance. Sevyn loves everything about the promenade, it's spacious, the stores are beautiful and the smell of food cooking lingers in the air tempting her sense. Connecticut has a few places like this but they're much smaller and not as glamorous.

"Man, California is expensive." Monica says from where she and Kat have their arms lined with shopping bags.

"I hope you don't blow all your money." Sevyn tells her.

"Oh please," Monica waves her hand as best she can while balancing her shopping bags. "My parents each have me 300 dollars for this trip, I think I'm good." Kat nods in agreement.

"Ooh, look," Kat points over to a group of street performers who are playing the guitar and drums. A small crowd is gathered around them, taking videos and clapping along. They watch as they guitarist takes people's hands and tries to encourage them to dance, but everyone is too shy to do anything more than a careful two step. Sevyn takes a video of the performers and the guitarist looks over at her and waves at the camera. He has long dreads that dangle near his waist and a dark brown complexion that matches his hazel eyes.

"This beat is kinda wavy." Shaun mentions as he nods his head to the rhythm. It's like as soon as he says that the rest of the group starts feeling the music too and soon they're all bobbing their heads and dancing in the middle of the crowd. Sevyn laughs and records her friends as they throw in all types of dances that surprisingly match the enticing beat.

"Hey, that was really good." Kat tells the guitarist as soon as the song is over. She pulls three twenties out of her pocketbook and pushes it towards him.

"No no, I can't take this. We're just performing for fun." The guitarist insists.

Kat waves her hand like its nothing. "That's ok, I know how hard it is for thriving artist. Take this and put it towards buying a better guitar." She says, nodding towards his beat up guitar.

Monica yanks her arm, "What are you doing? That money could go to something more important like a pair of red bottoms." She hisses in her ear.

"It's not the end of the world honey, I promise." Kat kisses her cheek then turns to the guitarist again.

He looks at her for a moment then all her friends. "You guys aren't from California are you?" he says, reluctantly taking the money.

"How can you tell?" Sevyn asks.

"Well, you're at least a few shades paler than true Californians and all tourist splurge like there's no tomorrow." He eyes the shopping bags with a smile.

"We're from Connecticut." Kat tells him.

"Ohh, east coasters I see. Welcome to Cali, I'm Nigel and this is my group Menace."
