"So you're going out with that boy today?" Aubrey's aunt says from where she's standing in the doorway of her bedroom holding Nevy.

"Yeah, Jermiah wants to take us somewhere nice." Aubrey tells her while scanning over her outfit in the mirror that consists of a green camisole with a multicolored maxiskirt and wedge sandals. Her hair hangs in a low ponytail over her shoulder and her face is naked aside from some clear lipgloss. Jeremiah texted her last night and told her to be up and dressed with Nevy by 12, she didn't bother questioning it knowing he'd get his way no matter what.

Her aunt adjusts Nevy on her hip. "I still find it weird that he just decided to show up here and reclaim his duty as a father." she says. Ever since she met Jeremiah she hasn't shown any liking towards him. If anything she despises him although she doesn't even know him and so Aubrey makes it a point to avoid talking about him around her.

"He's come around to his senses." Aubrey puts on a pair of silver studs in her ears. "Why is it so bad that he came back? Would you rather Neveah not have a father?"

"She had a father Bre, Keenan."

"He's not her biological father though." She walks away from the mirror and begins packing Neveah's baby bag without looking at her aunt. "I'd rather have Jeremiah around than Keenan. It's a weight off my shoulders."

Her aunt watches her closely. "So you feel no guilt about leading Keenan on, breaking the boys heart and lying to everyone's face?"

Aubrey sighs, "You dont understand, it's complicated right now."

"Then at least apologize to Keenan and his family. His parents must be devasted, especially after everything they did for you. We were going to buy you two a house!"

"Well now you don't have to." Aubrey says with an attitude. The doorbell rings just in time to break the tension and she grabs Neveah from her aunts arms, thankful they don't have to continue this conversation. "We'll be back later." she says, slinging the baby bag over her shoulder.

Her aunt stands up with a passive face. "Alright,"

Aubrey ignores the disappointment in her voice and walks out the room. Her aunts words echo in her head and she tries to force them out but they stick in there like glue. Maybe her aunt is right, maybe she does owe an apology to Keenan's parents. It would be wrong to snatch away who they thought was their granddaughter without so much as an explanation, but Keenan probably already walked them through what happened between them. Showing her face around them would be pointless and just make her look stupid. Plus, she's positive Keenan doesn't want to see her ever again after the hurt she caused him.

Swallowing her conscince, Aubrey opens the door and forces a smile when she sees Jeremiah standing on the steps. The sun behind him creates a golden outline around him and those dark eyes glitter as he looks her over. "You look nice."

"Thanks," Butterflies erupt in her stomach again, something that's been happening a lot around him.

He looks at Neveah and graps her hands, "You do too babygirl." He coos to her. Neveah makes a gurgling sound and kicks her legs happily. Aubrey dressed her in a ruffled yellow shirt and a denim skirt with little white sandals. She has a yellow polka dotted headband around her head to compliment the look. "Ready to go?" Jeremiah slips the baby bag off her shoulder and puts it on his own.

"Yup," She nods and grabs Neveah's carrier before stepping out the house and closing the door behind her. She follows Jeremiah to a shiny grey car sitting in the drive way, her eyebrows raise impressed at the gleaming Audi. "Rental?"

"Yeah, you like it?" He asks patting the hood.

"Love it, if you misplace the keys it's probably because I stole them." She jokes.
