It was Monica's idea to go shopping for new outfits for their trip, everyone else just tagged along. They scour the mall as one big group, pointing things out in windows and discussing what they need to look for while they're out.

"I really need a new bathing suit, the one I have now is too small. I think my boobs have gotten bigger in the last year." Kat complains, shamelessly cupping her chest in her hands.

Shaun puts an arm around her shoulders, "You say that like its a bad thing Kitty Kat." Kat giggles and Monica shoves him away from her.

"What about you?" Jackson hip bumps Sevyn. "Shopping for a new bathing suit too?"

"No," Sevyn says. "The one I have from last year is fine."

Monica whips her head around to look at her, "Please tell me you're not talking about the tankini one." Sevyn nods her head and she groans. "Babydoll you're about to be seventeen in August, I think it's time to put on your big girl bikini."

Sevyn sighs, "What do you want me to get Money, a thong?" Jackson's eyebrows raise with interest.

"Not if you don't want to." Monica giggles. "But tankini's are for twelve year old girls growing through puberty. You have a nice body, show it off."

That's the difference between Monica and Sevyn. Sevyn wouldn't call herself insecure but she's definitely not as...flamboyant as Monica. She prefers tank tops and capris while Monica would happily walk around in a bandeau and shorts. Take what she's wearing now for instant, while Sevyn is dressed in a sheer high low shirt with floral leggings, Monica is sporting a cropped tank top to show off olive colored stomach with studded shorts that hug her hips. Their styles are too different, which is why they're always at odds and ends about fashion.

"Buy what you're comfortable in." Jackson says squeezing her hand. She's glad that Jackson is more understanding than her stubborn best friend. "And if that means rocking a thong bathing suit then so be it." He whispers so only she can hear. Sevyn laughs and gives him a look that says, "only in your dreams."

The boys end up splitting up with the girls halfway through the mall, they head upstairs towards the men's fashion while the girls continue on as a group. "I want one of those flower headbands." Miranda says. "I'd look like a Hawaiian goddess on the beach." She tousles her thick black hair in thought.

"Or that little girl from Lilo and stitch." Talia laughs.

"Yeah you're the perfect height." Monica teases. Miranda sticks her tongue out at them then points two a store a few feet away.

"Lets go in there." They follow her into the trendy pop culture themed store called Infinity where the over head speakers are blasting a dubstep beat. They scour the place picking up items and holding them up to each other to judge before adding them to the pile in their arms.

Sevyn is on the hunt for some shorts. All her other ones have gotten too snug around the butt area and her mother strongly recommended that she invest in newer ones before they head to Santa Monica. As she shifts through the racks, Monica pops up next to her holding a skimpy black bikini. Sevyn makes a face, "I hope you don't expect me to squeeze into that."

"I knew you'd hate it." Monica shoves it onto the rack and holds up another one, this one is purple with a plaid print. "What about this?"

Sevyn examines it then shakes her head, "Those little triangles will barely cover anything important."

Monica laughs and places it on the rack. "Last one."

This time it's navy colored bathing suit with a orange and white paisley design on it. It's bigger than the others and looks way more decent. Sevyn takes the hanger from her, "Ok, I'll try it."
