"Say ahh...ahh...ahhhhhh." Aubrey opens her mouth widely as a demonstration for Nevy to do the same. She waves the cracker in front of of Nevy's watchful eyes.

"Come on Nevy, say ahhh if you want it." She insists.

Nevy blinks before slowly parting her lips. A soft "ah" comes out as she leans towards the cracker. Aubrey claps loudly and cheers, making Nevy jump. Her face crumples like she's about to cry and Aubrey quickly hands her the cracker. She brings it to her mouth and sucks on it happily.

Placing her to the side, Aubrey pulls her laptop up again to continue searching for an apartment. She's going to be eighteen in a few weeks and Nevy will start toddling soon. She can't stay holed up in her aunts house forever.

She hears footsteps coming up the stairs and heading towards her room. Scribbling some numbers down on her notepad, she calls out to her aunt. "Auntie, can I ask your opinion on something?"

Her door swings open, "Well I'm not your aunt but I can still offer an opinion."

Popping her head up, Aubrey sees Jeremiah enter her bedroom. "Oh, hey," she discreetly closes her notebook. "Did my aunt let you in?"

"Yeah, I told you you should just make me a key and I can stop disturbing your aunt as she watches soap operas on the couch." Jeremiah replies, leaning over to give her a kiss.

"Um, I don't think my aunt will be too happy you having a key to her house." She says.

Jeremiah sits on the bed and reaches over to tickle Nevy. "What's up babygirl? You missed me?"

"Ahh," Nevy coos as drool falls from her lips.

"Learning words? Let Da-Da be your first." He smiles, "Come on say it with me. Da-Da."

Nevy just blinks before going back to gnawing on her soggy cracker and Aubrey snickers. Jeremiah kisses her cheek then turns back to Aubrey. "So what did you need your aunts opinion on?"

"Um nothing important," Aubrey slowly begins to close her laptop but Jeremiah puts his hand on the screen to stop her. He takes it from her and settles it in his lap, peering at the screen he examines what she was looking at.

"Apartments?" The word slowly rolls off his tongue. "Is your aunt kicking you out?"

"No, I decided that its time to get my life together. My aunt is willing to pitch in to get me an apartment and next to apartment hunting I'm also job hunting, it's not like she's going to pay my rent forever. Nevy needs her own room and so do I." Aubrey doesn't look at him as she talks, she tucks her hair behind her ear and picks at her nail polish.

"Have you found anything yet?" He asks.

"I've found a few options but I still have to compare rent and things like that." She lets out a heavy breath. "There's a lot of information to consider."

As Aubrey gives Neveah another cracker, Jeremiah rapidly types something into the computer. "You should look here." He turns the laptop towards her.

As soon as she sees the word at the top of the page, her stomach twists into knots. 'Florida,' is in big blue font, staring her in the face like a menacing beast. "Um...wow. Florida huh?"

"Yeah, it misses you." Jeremiah says.

"I miss it too but there's a reason why I left." Aubrey says. "It was nice while it lasted but I think Connecticut is a good place to raise Nevy. I mean she was born here."

"She was meant to be born in Florida Bre," Jeremiah takes her hand. "And what's gonna happen when I head back to Florida? I'm just up and out of her life again?"
