"So yall don't know how to pick up a phone anymore?" Sevyn winces at her mothers voice. She's sitting in the living room with her brothers, talking to their mom on speaker phone.
"Sorry mommy," she coos into the phone.
"Mhm, how are you guys doing? Is the west coast nice?" She says.
"It's gorgeous, I wish we had palm trees in Connecticut. The water is crystal clear too, I love it." Sevyn tells her.
"And they have so many restaurants that we don't." Ty adds in as he currently bites into a burger from In and Out burger.
"Of course your favorite thing would be the food." Their mother says and Sevyn already knows she's shaking her head. "Don't forget to take pictures, I want to see everything."
"Sevyn has that under control." Malcolm pipes up. "She's been using that Polaroid we got her for Christmas like she's the paparazzi. We had to buy some new film yesterday."
"I want to remember his trip." Sevyn defends. "You'll thank me when you're old and cant remember anything so you depend on pictures to help you."
Malcolm sticks his tongue out at her and she throws a French fry at him.
"Is the house nice?" Their mom asks.
"You have no idea," Ty looks around at all the living room that looks like it's straight out of an IKEA magazine. The glass coffee table with gold legs looks like its worth at least 100 something dollars alone. "I hope I can live this lavishly when I'm Uncle Renny's age."
"Then I hope your degree in business pays off then. Where's your aunt? Tending to her collection of Italian leather shoes?" Their mom snickers and Sevyn smiles at her pettiness.
"She's upstairs watching tv or something." Malcolm says. "We're going out later but I'm not sure where yet."
"Oh, well have fun and call me soon. Ok?"
"Ok," the three of them chorus. "Love you."
"Love y'all too, bye." Their mom says before hanging up. As soon as their call ends Sevyn finds herself missing her mom a little bit. One day shes going to come to California with her mom and they can stay in a nice hotel together. They can sight see and spend mindless amounts of money together.
Heading upstairs to her room, Sevyn finds Jackson pacing back and forth with his phone to his ear. He looks at her when she walks in and mouths the word 'mom'. She nods and continues over to where he's standing near the window, wrapping her arms around his waist she lays her head on his chest.
"Yeah mom, I miss you guys too." He says into the phone.
"Hey Mrs.Daniels!" Sevyn shouts.
Jackson winces, "Ouch, just bust my eardrum that's fine." He gives her a dirty look and she giggles. "Yes ma that was Sevyn." He says bitterly then rolls his eyes. "Ma says hi, Sevyn."
Sevyn smiles contently. "Tell Jay I said hi too."
"Nah, shut up." Jackson mushes her head. "What is Jay doing anyway? I'm surprised she hasn't taken the phone yet." He says to his mom now. As they talk, Sevyn plants kisses on his neck. He glances down at her with a warning look but she decides to ignore it and glides a hand under his shirt to trace the hard muscles under it.
She grabs his chin and pulls him into a kiss. He tries to pull away but has no luck as Sevyn traps him with her lips. "Sevyn---" he mumbles out while trying to push her away. He tickles her side and she jumps away from him, finally letting him gain control of his lips again. "No mom not you, I was talking to Sevyn. She being weird."
