"What are you doing, I sent you downstairs to get us ice cream like fifteen minutes ago." Monica approaches Sevyn as she stands in the doorway of Malcolm's room.
"It's so empty," Sevyn observes looking around his room. His stuff has been packed up in boxes and suitcases that are placed neatly around his room. His posters have been taken down and rolled up so he can take them to college and his closet is bare with the exception of a few shirts hanging on the rack. "He's going all the way to Massachusetts."
"It's an hour drive," Monica points out.
Sevyn looks at her with sharp eyes, "An hour compared to walking down the hall just to say hey." She turns and walks across the hall to Ty's room. She opens the door and is met with the same image as Malcolm's room, except he has random stuff thrown around the floor and some of his boxes are still open. "They annoy me to death, but it's gonna be lonely without them. I've had them around since birth, and now they're leaving me."
"Ok Ty is like thirty minutes away, drama queen." Monica tells her. Sevyn looks at her miserably and she can see her eyes welling up, she sighs and puts her arm around her friend. "Aww Sev, it's gonna be ok. They're not that far, we can pop up on them whenever we want to." Sevyn doesn't say anything, she just rests her head against Monica's. Rubbing her back, Monica tries to think of something to say that will cheer her up. She considers telling Sevyn about how she's been sneaking around with Ty for the past two weeks, but she's afraid that will only make her angry. "You know, we should turn this rooms into lounge room. We can buy bean bag chairs, christmas lights, a fuzzy rug and get one of those mini popcorn makers. Our sleepovers would be bomb."
"I'm actually down for that," Sevyn replies, her tone sounding more cheerful than before "We don't have to worry about them busting in and changing the channel when we're watching TV or stealing our snacks."
Monica chuckles and looks around Ty's room, she still can't wrap her mind around the idea that they're together. She wouldn't exactly say they're dating, but the chemistry is definitely there. Nothing has changed between them, he's still his same obnoxious and cocky self, except he slips her discreet kisses when no ones looking and always tries to get her alone without anyone noticing. Which means following her to the bathroom, the kitchen and her car. When it's just them, his vulnerable sides comes out and he doesn't act like goofy Ty, he shows a deeper side of him that only a few people have ever seen. He opens up to her about things that he's worried about in college and he tells her exactly what's on his mind. She likes seeing this side of him, it makes her feel like she truly means something to him and she hopes the feelings lasts a long time.
"What?" Sevyn suddenly questions.
Monica looks at her, "What?"
"You were smiling,"
"I was?"
Sevyn nods her head slowly then smiles, "Are you reminiscing on all the good times with the twins. Aww, you're gonna miss them just as much as I am."
"Of course I will, I'm around them just as much as you are. It's gonna be weird not seeing them strut around school. I mean, who's gonna take Ty's spot as the school player?"
"I was thinking the same thing." A deep voice says from behind them. Monica fights a smile as they turn to face Ty. "Why are yall in my room?"
"We're planning to turn it into a lounge," Sevyn says, wiping the previous look of sadness off her face. She doesn't want to admit how much she's going to miss her brothers just yet or they'll hold it against her.
Ty furrows his eyebrows, "No you're not. Just cuz I'll be in college doesn't mean I don't own this room. If I come back and find one thing out of place I'll---"
