Sevyn bursts into the house when she gets home, excited to share her news with others. Ty, Malcolm and Miranda are sitting on the couch watching a movie when she walks into the living room.
"Guess what I got!" Sevyn exclaims.
"A muzzle, hopefully." Ty mutters.
"Yeah, be quiet we're trying to watch the movie." Malcolm cranes his neck to see around her body.
Miranda shakes her head and picks up the remote to mute the tv. "Stop being so mean to her." She scolds, then focuses her attention on Sevyn again. "What did you get Sev?"
"My license!" Sevyn whips the card out her pocket and holds it up for everyone to see. Malcolm raises his eyebrows in surprise and Ty leans forward to snatch it out her hands. He looks it over and nods with approval.
"Congratulations now you can finally stop asking people to bring you places." He remarks.
"You know this means we have to share the car between four people now, right?" Sevyn smirks with her arms folded. Ty's face falls.
"Aww, it's hard enough fighting over the car with Malcolm, now I gotta compete with you too?"
Sevyn smirks and sits on the couch. Malcolm cuts his eyes at Ty, "Well if you had saved up like I told you to we could put our money together and buy a car. But nooo, you just had to splurge."
"Well I'm sorry if I like fast food and sneakers." Ty shrugs. "Plus I had to keep my girl looking right, I copped her those new Js."
"Where is Talia anyway?" Sevyn asks.
"Work,"
Malcolm laughs, "Your girl has a job but you don't. Let's see who starts providing for who soon." Ty shoots him a dirty look before they begin bickering and Miranda rolls her eyes. Sevyn takes out her phone to text Jackson the good news, when a text pops up on her screen.
Shaun: you have Janine's number?"
Sevyn: yeah...why???
"Any idea why Shaun is asking me for Janine's number?" She asks her brothers. They give her a weird look.
"He's probably getting desperate and needs a quickie." Ty snickers.
Malcolm chuckles, "Apparently she doesn't bust it open anymore. She's a "changed girl".
"Go somewhere with that bull. Once a thot always a thot." Ty argues.
"Isn't Janine almost like a sister to yall now?" Miranda asks, referring to what Malcolm has told her about their parents.
All three of them give her a menacing look, "No." They answer in unison. She holds her hands up in surrender at their defense. Sevyn's phone vibrates again.
Shaun: Just gimme her number
Without asking anymore questions Sevyn sends Shaun Janine's number. The only reason she has it is because her dad thought it would be a good idea for them to "connect" and "become closer". The only time she ever used Janine's number was when she locked out her dads house and needed her to open the door.
"What are we watching?" She asks as she fires a smiley face to Jackson.
"Looper, now shut up cuz we missed some good parts." Ty snatches the remote from Miranda and unmutes the tv. Sevyn rolls her eyes before picking up her license and holding it next to her face to take a selfie with it. She wants everyone to know that she's now a licensed driver.
It took Shaun ten minutes to get Janine's number, twenty minutes to convince Janine to give him Carson's number and five more minutes to get her house address. By the time he finally pulls up to her house, he wonders if all this was even worth it.
