Neveah takes a handful of her dissolvable banana flavored snacks and stuffs them into her mouth. Most of them drop onto the bed while only a few make it into her mouth. Keenan chuckles as he watches her struggle to pick up the ones that fell.
A soft knock on the door makes Neveah turn around to see who's coming in. Janine and Carson walk in together, closing the door behind them.
"Your mom let us in, we wanted to drop by before going home for the night." Janine says.
"Welcome," Keenan greets. Janine sits on the bed and Carson sits in the computer chair at the desk. "I haven't seen you in a while Carson."
"I haven't been up to much, just running around with Janine." She says, setting her pocketbook on the ground. "Can I hold Neveah?"
"If she lets you, she tends to catch attitudes." Keenan warns.
"Well no one has a bigger attitude than me so we should be fine." Carson gets up and walks over to the bed. She lifts Neveah into her arms who isn't very happy about leaving behind her snacks. She lets out a whine and tries to squirm from Carson's grasp as she sits down in the computer chair again.
"Excuse me miss Neveah, I know daddy answers to your beck and call but that doesn't work with me." Carson tells her like she's talking to a five year old rather than a five month old. "So cut out that whining and be the sweet little princess I know your are."
Neveah stares at Carson like she has two heads. Her wide eyes take in her platinum blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. She reaches up and lets her fingers brush the blonde hair hanging close to her face, before grabbing a fist full and pulling. "Ow," Carson gasps. "Fiestly little munchkin huh? Luckily this is all mine."
"Throwing shade?" Janine questions.
"If the shoe fits wear it." Carson giggles, finally slipping her hair from Neveah's grasp.
Janine gives her the 'talk to the hand' gesture and looks at Keenan. "So?"
"Nothing yet," He replies letting out a heavy sigh. "It's like time is going by so slowly."
"Well moping around all day definitely isn't helping." Janine tells him and crosses her arms when he gives her a weird look. "I know you're sad, but thinking negatively and being a sad puppy isn't helping you, Aubrey or Neveah. Go do something, be active. I'm not saying go to a club but take Nevy to the park, the zoo, something! Its what Aubrey would want you to do."
Keenan shakes his head, "I know you're trying to help, but you don't understand Janine. I can't think about anything other than finding Aubrey."
"Yeah, and that's your problem. You're digging a hole for yourself, you're making this more painful than it has to be right now. I know you Keenan, don't let yourself resort back to that withdrawn person. Keep yourself busy, go write some lyrics, go make a music video. Do something with your life."
"The mother of my daughter is missing." He spits at her. "I'm sorry for not being the poster child of happiness right now."
"Sitting on your ass all day is real helpful." Janine continues. "That negative energy you have right now is going to start affecting Neveah and then you're really going to be screwed."
Carson bounces Neveah in her lap, "I've learned that listening to Janine is better than arguing with her. Her advice is beneficial in the long run."
Keenan sighs and throws his head back.
"Listen to this," Janine puts her hand on her leg. "Tomorrow, Carson and I are going to take you out, you and Nevy. We're gonna do fun stuff all day to take your mind off things. All this worrying is going to be your breaking point if you keep this routine up."
