"Auntie, I can't thank you enough for letting us stay here with you for the summer." Sevyn hugs her aunt tightly, not knowing when she'll see her again.
"You are more than welcome, I enjoyed having you guys here. You keep me young and up to date on all the new slang, check out my eyebrows, they're on fleek huh?" Aunt Mel bobs her eyebrows and they all laugh.
The airport is packed with people travelling to and fro in the early morning. It's finally time for them to say goodbye to California and head home. They take turns hugging Aunt Mel goodbye and thanking her for letting them stay for the summer. Sevyn is both sad and a little anxious to leave, she loves California but misses her home.
"Alright, your flight is boarding now. Go on before you miss it." Aunt Mel smiles at them.
"We'll call you when we touch down." Malcolm tells her. She nods and blows a kiss to them. Together, they carry their luggage over to the line and place it on the table, then wait their turn to walk through the metal detector.
Ty lets out a sigh and looks around the airport, "I don't wanna leave."
"Me either, but it will feel good to be home. I miss mom...I miss my bed...I strangely miss the calmness of CT compared to all the activity that goes on here." Sevyn says.
"I can't wait to get on the plane and go back to sleep. Who's idea was it to leave at 7 in the morning?" Monica asks, cutting her eyes at Sevyn.
Sevyn smiles at her, "I didn't want to get back too late."
"It's only going to be eleven in the morning when we get back." Monica points out. Sevyn shrugs and moves up as the line moves forward.
After going through the process of checking in their luggage and being scanned and pat down, they finally make their way to the plane with their carry on. Sitting down in their seats, Shaun nervously looks around the plane with wide eyes and taps his foot anxiously.
"I hate flying," He groans. "I wish we could just take a boat or a train back to Connecticut. Anything other than being in the air."
Monica rolls her eyes from her seat beside him, "Here we go again. Just put on some headphone, close your eyes and go to sleep. We'll be there before you know it."
"Ok..." Shaun says then looks at her innocently. "Can I lay on you then?" She gives him the side eyes and he just stares at her, "You know...to make me less nervous?"
Not in the mood to argue with him, Monica puts her bag down on the floor. "I don't care."
"Yes!" Shaun adjust himself in his seat and instead of laying on her shoulder, his head goes straight for her chest. "Ooh, soft" He smiles.
"Hey!" Monica punches him in the shoulder and pushes his head off her boobs. "I didn't mean lay there."
Shaun rolls his eyes, "Fine..." He takes his neck pillow out his book bag and fastens it around him before laying down on Monica's shoulder and plugging his headphones in. After choosing a song, he closes his eyes and tries to forget that he's on a plane.
"Five hours until we're home." Jackson says.
Talia looks out the window and waves, "Goodbye California!"
Five hours and thirty minutes later, their plane lands in Connecticut. After exiting the plane and grabbing their bags, they go into the lobby where their parents are all waiting in a big group. When they're spotted, the parents come running towards their kids, hugging and kissing them all over in middle of the airport. There's a lot of, "I missed you" "how was the trip?" "I'm glad you're back" "wow you got a tan" being said. Sevyn is smashed against her brothers as her mother hugs them tightly, her perfume suffocating their airways.
